These look lovely - I believe you said you're intending to rerelease the whole figures with the upgrades as well as the expansion sets?

Also, is this treatment still in the pipeline for Gandalf the Grey with that original sculpted hair head?

In regards to the new Merry sculpt, I agree that the eyes are too squinty. I love the smirk! It captures Merry's personality MUCH better than the angry look of the original sculpt.

If you re-release the set with these new sculpts, I will definitely be ordering them.

If you do the same for Frodo and Sam, I will also be ordering them as well.

The original sculpts are what kept me from ordering the four hobbit figures in the first place.

I wholly concur. passed the first set so please do these as a whole set and follow up with improved Frodo and Sam and my Fellowship will be back on track. May even have to reconsider plastic hair Legolas if I can get the Hobbits sorted.

Those new sculpts look great! Though Pippin's does look a little creepy unpainted.

Pip and Merry look very good after printing out
it is slightly bigger because we kept it 5%+ for the mold shrinkage.

Capes are added as requested. They will be sold within the expansion pack (head)

So are we getting a slim limited release of these figures including the new sculpts, bodies and outifts? Or is Aragorn the only one getting a slim version?

Hopefully Asmus will chime in and confirm but I suspect all 're-releases' will be of the slim variety like Saruman and now Aragorn.

Slims and expansion packs seem to be the way they're going with these re-visits. That's what I thought they confirmed earlier in this thread for these guys, too. (Alternate heads plus original capes.)

Though I don't quite know what would be "slim" about a re-release of Merry & Pippin. The original release was pretty slim to begin with, including just outfits and daggers. I don't think it's at all likely, but they could go the other way and offer the re-release as a "luxury" edition with a base of some kind and a few more extras, like their original capes and swords? And then offer those extras in their expansion pack for those of us who already have the original set? Just an idea ...

we also think this may be the very last time we ever go back to Pip and Merry...

No offense to P&M lover, but they are still not major heroes.
