Got my missing sword from Asmus today

Metal sword, nice enough sculpt, lacking any weathering but that's not really an issue and is easily sorted.

Only problem is it was sent unwrapped in a paper envelope. From Taiwan. And wouldn't you know it - it got bent to hell in transit.

What kind of muppet sends a long thin pliable metal object through the post with no kind of support whatsoever. Gah! Lunacy.

Removed the chocks from the steed's legs. Worked a treat in keeping them a little further apart and hence more stable. Hind legs though, distance is the least of the problems there.

My missing sword showed up today too! It did come wrapped in packing in a yellow envelope. Thankfully it wasn't broke and only slightly bent. Nothing I couldn't fix.

Thanks Asmus!

To everyone that has this. Are you happy you got it?
Is it worth getting if you're a LOTR collector?
I'm so close to pushing the order button on this.

Hello Fremen,
I will put a small photo review tomorrow, I still have to futz and weather him... Overall it looks very good but there are too much details flaws and a lot of work to do to make him look acceptable. I got it 3 weeks ago and I still don't have the desire to "play" with it. But if you have enough money don't hesitate, with some work I'm sure it can look fantastic.
:)

I love this set, it has presence, some issues but easily overlooked,
my issues, nazgul- yeah some loose joints, Id like to finesse the pose with subtle movements to express more emotion, just ain't going to happen with this body( having said this he's still holding a decent pose I can be happy with)
Steed- generally the straps are well done but the main strap around his belly Id say is to thin and cheap and will stretch or come loose.
the feet issue, again I've achieved the pose I've innitially wanted but I feel I will struggle if I want to get the passive all feet on the ground look legs are bent inward and feet won't sit flat

the piece of cloth under the saddle again is cheap but easily overlooked

for me for looks it's probably a 8-1/2 / 10
for quality Id 7/10

I'm curious too now that it has been released and more people have it, how would you grade the horse/steed? Is it worth the $175 or do you think one should wait for a future release or an improved steed?

I'm not a LotR collector, but I'm a fan of the book and films, so I'd like to have LotR represented on my shelf. This Nazgul+steed set and a hopefully a well-executed GtG figure will do that for me. Weighing up this set's flaws, price and likelihood of never being revisited, I think it's a no-brainer buy for a LotR fan and especially a LotR collector :)

Update on my steed's legs: they did respond pretty well to being chocked apart, and in a neutral pose all four hooves are nearly flat on the shelf. One of the rear hooves lets down the team, but it's a decent result. I'll post pics when I get a chance.
