I think Les makes a great point when he says, let's get the fun back!

What was the point of posting all of that in this thread? I didn't find your name on any of the order lists. Do you even have any money at stake here or do you just like to fan the flames?

Actually I think everyone here could take notes from Les. Someone who has had real struggles but still managed to keep his customers informed. I haven't followed his situation too closely but just from what I've read he has gone to the library to use their computers and sent messages via DA Josh when he didn't have internet access. He recognizes his mistakes and continues to work towards completing his projects.
Les may not be a good business man but he is a good MAN.

This thread is not unproductive. In fact I would say that until people start receiving their products (or refunds) this thread's visibility is very important.

No, he's building a comprehensive document which will cause no harm if the orders are fulfilled but could be incredibly useful if not.

Mr GordonGekko former administrator at OSW,

I am a member at the OSW and have deposits on head sculpts with Chris. Saying that...at no time did I ask you to try to resolve or speak for me to resolve any issues. Remove my name from any lists you have posted here or at the OSW.

I think even though there were some "rough" patches in this thread that it has done a world of good, or will do a world of good in the very near future. I think it needs to stay open for now, because there are some events getting ready to happen according to Chris, that are going to change peoples idea of him. It doesn't change the fact that I am glad this is all out in the open.

I do wish he was more forthcoming with a "confession" if you will, about work overload and his inability to give refunds. That is something that is going to continue to be a thorn in his side.

However, I don't think this is hurting the customizer community on this board, and I will tell you why. I think it's leading to a slow down. I think in the very near future, people are going to realize that you can't keep taking in money for projects, adding to a list that never ends. You have to do some, if not all of the work FIRST, then charge. And I think customizers on this board desperately need to raise their prices! Guys in Korea are making a killing on fewer projects than you guys put out, and they have time to put all their creative focus into one project at a time.

I don't know if Les and DarkArtist will ever be able to dig themselves out from what they went through, and still have the desire to do anything creative for money. But they both have expressed how they would do things differently in the future. Les hit it right on the head. This needs to go back to being fun, but also fair and profitable to those who are doing the work. You shouldn't have to commit to dozens of projects at a time, when you can make the same (or more) money off of one or two and have more fun doing it. I am convinced the end-product would also be better.

I have my fingers crossed that Chris "unleashes hell" as far as updates are concerned, and starts mailing product on a timeframe. If he doesn't think he has hit enough of a bottom yet to require full disclosure, that's frustrating, but fine. In place of total disclosure better come product, and lots of it, including and probably firstly product to those guys asking for a refund. Refund or product asap.

Actually, you missed me Gekko, but it's good to see everything that's been commissioned to Chris in one looooong post.
Interesting...
It's been so long, it's starting to come back to me now.

I for one don't want or need him speaking for me. Chris has replied to this thread in a timely fashion and that is good enough for me at this point. I am giving him the time to follow through on what he has said. Just as I am allowing the others who are even farther behind to do the same.

I didn't even remember ebing on the Milla J. commision list until I saw it there. I definitely did NOT pay for anything, if that's helpful in any way.

And BTW - just because someone doesn't have cash invested in this doesn't mean the have no stake in what happens. As a community this is a big issue that has been building for some time.

Obviosuly I will defer to Dave since it's his party but IMO this thread needs to keep going untl there is real resolution. I think everyone should post their 2 cents.

Maybe artists should be restricted to one product at a time?

Another option would be to limit the number of "sales" to say 10 heads, delivered, before taking new orders.

It's obvious that some of the artists can not control the amount of work they take on, so some kind of limits should be imposed on them.

Damn, I honestly didn't realize how many commissions (some with 3-4 heads or pieces) there were :google

That's cool, I'm not looking to argue. When I've had custom work done in the past I pretty much pay and forget about it because I know it will take a long time. If you're satisfied with Chris' explanation that'sfine. But just to be clear those aren't Gekko's lists - he's just reposting info that has been publicly available for some time.

Again, I"m not trying to say anything either way about Chris and the limited interaction I had with him was very pleasant and professional. I just like the community and want what's best for it.

Hey Gekko,

All of those lists are potentially outdated or incomplete. I am not listed on the Maximus armor list, even tough I paid back in January.

Gekko,
I think most people appreciate you putting together that list. It will be a good guide of reference no matter how this turns out...either as a check off list when heads start to ship or if things go sour (which hopefully they will not).

Yeah, I'm chiming in and I have invested no money...though I was signed up for the Hunter S Thompson sculpt which fell by the wayside. Probably a good thing in retrospect...way too many projects that need to be completed first. Anyway, I'm keeping track of all of this...because I'm sure at some point it's going to flow on over to the feedback thread...and my fingers are crossed that it will be positive or at least neutral for everyone involved.

I agree what you’ve said. There should be some kind of limits. That what I've been saying from the get go.

It's obvious that the artists can not control the amount of work they take on, so some kind of limits should be imposed on them.

However, this statement is downright insulting.

It's too general, IMO. It has become obvious that several artists could not handle their workload.
There are many artists that go along quietly taking orders and delivering.

And, credit where it's due, some of the guys who have let things get out of control continue to give updates and take responsibility for it. Therein lies the key.

hey little update from Chris i drove past his house and managed to snap off a pic with my digital camera. Looks like he is alive but im not sure for how much longer as that one stone looks rather large and heavy......:lol
