Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

O idk. Tdk is everything I wanted in a Batman v joker movie

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

Mine will be:
1. IW
2. EG
3. A1+AoU

Personally, A1 is only tied with AoU now because of that scene where IM brings the party to the team and we get the first shot of the team together.

AoU is starting to be the better film for me after rewatching and after knowing what it brought to the larger MCU. The only thing weighing it down for me was the weak 3rd act

I have always been a fan of AOU, quicksilver’s death is really sad for me.

Lots of fun action in it.

Go back just to the Batman Begins era you don’t even have to go before that and tell people walking into BB that in 2019 a superhero movie with a talking racoon and tree will make 2.3 billion dollars and they will lol

Speaking of lol Drax the Destroyer got shafted way worse than Hulk in EG lol

I was hoping he would have at least a moment fighting Thanos, I feel for his plight, and have to agree with you.

Maybe just a quick stab with his knives?

Thanks to technology, marvel thrives off in cgi effects, everything dc has done before the dceu was done on practical effects, at the end of the day it makes it more realistic , hence why the winter soldier is my favorite mcu movie
CGI doesn’t end very well, especially since Disney dislikes updating their media content

I see IW and EG as one movie. If I have to separate them, than IW has a slight lead. But man, that EG climax can beat just about any other movie.

Then the first Avengers.

I plan on watching AOU again soon, but I don't anticipate it moving up a slot.

I agree. Though in some way, he got that in IW at Titan. In the end, it really was a film for the core 6 who's contracts were ending, so they got the most attention.

Speaking of attention, I think Gamora and Nebula should have had more to do towards the end. I posted this in the Rescue armor thread, but I feel that the A-Force scene was a missed opportunity to have both Nebula and Gamora have the football instead of CM. That would have been such a good way for them to end their Thanos arc.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

Well I can finally click on all those spoilers I've been feverishly scrolling past over the last couple of weeks. I went into the movie with low expectations because I knew my favorite character was going to get railroaded in this one. For almost the entire first half of the movie I was starting to think this movie may actually be as bad as my expectations were. But then the second half of the movie hit and even though my favorite character (Hulk) got the shaft I was completely blown away, the end was perfect. I can now say with certainly that this entire 10 year run was the best movie going experience that I will ever experience in my lifetime. This was the perfect ending. Bravo Marvel. Now the next generation can enjoy where you are going next, it won't be for me but I'll still probably check them out. Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

Not even TDK’s 3rd act climax can touch EG 3rd act climax.

What third act does tho? That'snot a fair comparison. Two very different types of film and climaxes. EG is like LOTR with super heroes and a cosmic villain, not an eye. TDK is a much.smaller scale, and a more personal battle between Batman and Joker. I do find the battle between bats and joker throughout the movie and ultimately the end, to be more compelling than Thanos and ALL of the heroes in EG. It was epic and Thanos felt like more of a threat than he did in IW, but it just wasn't personal enough for me, maybe because there's so many characters.

It's a bit like knowing you just nailed the hottest babe you'll ever have in your lifetime... and being OK with that.

Amazing that IW/AEG is just 30 minutes shy of the entire OT. To this day I've never once binged the entire OT in one sitting but I absolutely know that I'll be watching IW/AEG straight through a good number of times in the years ahead.

That's right, because the special editions do not exist...

MCU is full of personal journeys :dunno

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

Sounds good on paper but I don’t think it would’ve worked with it being too convoluted trying to get him to do it.

Agreed. As an epic moment/situation hell yeah that sounds great but with the staggering amount of moving parts in a film like this changing something like that would have had a butterfly effect on quite possibly every single other element in the story.

When would primitive Hulk do the snap? Early in the movie when there was no direct conflict? Or fully Hulked out at the end mere minutes before Tony would do the same?

Really the entire film would have to be overhauled to allow for such a scene. Not saying that people like JAWS, Maulfan, and possibly a-dev wouldn't still welcome the overhaul but I certainly see why the Russos wouldn't have considered that to be an option and frankly I agree with them.

I think the best bet to satisfy all parties would have simply been to show Professor Hulk getting some good crowd pleasing licks in during the final battle along with everyone else.

Its like nobody has been watching the movies.

1. A1 Hulk is plenty strong and keeps it together enough to a) Work with a Team 2) Take orders from Cap 3) Save Iron Man 4) Take the stairs :lol

2. In AOU he flew a ****ing quinjet :lol

3. In Thor 3 He stopped fighting a monster when to by Thor and Did not attack Loki.

So I think Convincing the classic Hulk to put on a Glove and snap his fingers to save people would not have been an issue at all.
Getting him to think about bringing all the people back.. Now that may have been an issue. :lol

So I believe a Classic Hulk could have been used.. A hulk under a bit more of Banner control.

I agree that a Professor Hulk getting in some licks would have been good if he was the professor Hulk from the comics.. But this was green Banner with a gimp arm :lol

Nope all this talk of Hulk rage snapping only has one final outcome, it ruins the single greatest moment in all of cinematic superhero movie history!

Thanks but no thanks.

And that’s coming from someone who desperately wanted to see that opening night!

I mean who the hell is going to cheer for Captain America rallying the Avengers to kick Hulk’s ass!!!!!!!!

NO NO NO NO!

Then it would’ve been the opposite complaints lol

As for Hulk raging out and fighting the Avengers.. When the theory was that perhaps Thanos would be stopped halfway through and then a "WWH" type movie might happen then yeah..

But this movie was about Tony's death.. No other way to tell the story.. But it could have been done with Classic Hulk.. If that Glove was giving off Gamma and with Hulks healing powers.. It should not have been an issue.. But you know... Russo's gotta Russo the hulk :lol

Well really just for JAWS and MF :lol

Originally it was JAWS, MF and me but team Khev yo, i’m good! :rotfl

There is literally no one complaining about Hulk’s treatment anywhere lol

I honestly don’t think anyone really cares about Hulk much and I think Marvel knows that!

Weren’t you the one who said that Hulk was america’s ass! :lol

Jye, Jye, Jye… I remember when you were team Khev for TLJ

And then he left you..

When will you learn

:lol

As for nobody complaining. I have talked to a lot of people who where surprised by the lack of Hulk.

And as the hype has worn off there are more and more YouTube videos f people complaining.. Granted its only youtuber opinion but they are getting lots of hits which makes me think people are looking.. Like Me :lol

Plus there are plenty on this thread alone that say it was handled poorly or at least could have been handled better

The Arc of the Hulk was handled off screen and discussed in a diner... That's bad writing and a dumb idea.

Oh Well. It is what it is.. Hope Marvel does right by Hulk... But I really think his Toxic Masculinity is just too much for the Disney brand. :lol

Yup, but that was something that happened a long, long time ago. Today I got bask in the glory.:yess:

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

So much AOU hate....

Its a good movie, but its clearly the middle story, and the setup for Civil War and IW...

As such , it could never have the punch of either of those. It was just a setup piece , and without it, much of what we love in IW and EG would have fallen flat.

Is it bloated? Yup, is it a narrative mess. Yup, but overall it paints the setup for the future very well, as evident in this forum were we are talking about it in reference to EG, exactly as planned.
