Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

If Endgame can't beat a 10 year old movie... then that's just sad.

What they should do is pull it... and re-release two-weeks before Christmas so they can make the money needed within the year. No one is saying Avatar's gross included the re-release. No one will care a year or so from now. Just that Endgame topped Avatar. But Disney doesn't want to hurt poor Star Wars in any way.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

All she needs is a Star Wars role now.

She's already in Pirates too. And Star Trek. A Star Wars or Bond role would make her the quintuplet winner as an actor in the most monster franchises.

(sides note: I can hear Khev's brain now rattling with speed-check on who else might be in 5 franchises)

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

Also Ironic that in both history moneymakers, Zoe wasn’t the lead character, she always was a side character . One can argue that in Avatar she was a main character, but IMO the film didn’t revolve around her :dunno

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

I wish (a) Marvel had enough material to do a real extended cut - like an extra 20-30 minutes - and (b) Avatar 2 wasn't both delayed and under the Disney umbrella. It would have been sweet to see them beat Avatar's record by releasing the Endgame extended cut on Avatar 2's opening weekend. Stick it to both films simultaneously. If only. :lol

Or re-release EG the day before Avatar 2's trailer was supposed to drop to totally mess up their "A continuation of the highest grossing film of all time" tagline at the last second, lol.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

I think only Andy Serkis has been in all of the "Big Three" franchises: LOTR, SW, and MCU.

Cate Blanchett has done LOTR, MCU, and Indy.

Julian Glover has been a villain in SW (Veers), Bond (Cristatos) and Indy (Donovan). That's pretty huge, up there with Serkis and Blanchett.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

Too bad, since the Russo’s said the original Final EG battle was supposed to be scripted to be twice as long, a shame they didn’t film it that way ..oh well :lecture

This alone would’ve been ideal to add to this new screening and possibly put it over Avatar

I doubt if anyone at Marvel really cares. The next film Cameron directs will be the FIRST one he's directed since Avatar. Meanwhile Marvel has made (counting SMFFH) TWENTY-ONE in that time frame and those films have made over $20.8 Billion. Let the lazy bum crow about his measly $2.79 Billion. :lol

Not that I’m expecting anything of a positive result that will matter, but you are forgetting Terminator before Avatar 2

Yeah Glover's a good one. I guess his ESB/TLC buddy Michael Sheard (Ozzel/Hitler) never managed to find himself in a Bond flick, lol.

Mads Mikkelsen has SW, Bond, and the MCU.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

I see..then why is it a big deal then :lol

It isn't, lol. Just another glorified "the real Terminator 3" that he isn't directing, only endorsing, just like he did with Terminator Genysis. :lol

He did have a hand in coming up with the story along with 47 other credited writers though.

Obviously not believers in the adage of 'too many cooks....'

Bruce Spence was in LOTR, SW, Matrix, Mad Max RW and Pixar lol

Great point the MCU has collectively obliterated James Cameron.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

Yeah I thought about Spence but wasn't sure if the Matrix "franchise" was worthy, lol.

Stallone has Rocky, Rambo, and the MCU, lol.
