The "re-release" (lol) is embarrassing and laughable but IMO doesn't taint what has come before. I just see everything from here on out as post-Infinity Saga (IM to EG) Marvel and nothing to get too worked up about. Its fodder for ridicule but the victory of The Infinity Saga will be forever (no pun intended.)

The theaters around me were almost sold out last night for the added on version. Considered seeing it one more time. Then realized I’ll be able to watch it in my living room in a few weeks.

I can see that happening IF u think u are gonna get something special. I mean, that's what I thought, at first. But didn't race to buy tickets 'coz I felt dubious a few minutes later. There were a few articles sort of suggesting there'd be some cool stuff.

I guess not, so glad I didn't bother.

Yep. *Shrug*. Feige himself said sooner or later they'd release a bomb. So far that hasn't happened; instead feels more like Disney etc. can do no wrong - or that's what they (Disney) believes. For a general audience with time on their hands, maybe that's even true. Still - I may be a geek, but if I'm gonna get milked at least make an effort.:pfft:

No one will remember this re-release cash-grab attempt.

However, if I was Cameron, I'd write one f those 'congrats' letters but flip it and show the iceberg sinking, and say: Nice try!

:lol :lol

Hmm last weekend EG was 13th and yesterday they were 7th so maybe this stunt will actually pay off. Probably not enough to pass Avatar since 30 million is still a lot this long after its initial release.

Avatar is so unbeatable that it has taken every MCU character, a near perfect ending to an 11 year build up, an unprecedented 11 year 20+ films cinematic universe, the death of a major character, and a rerelease of the film the same year of release to MAYBE beat Avatar by a few dollars. :lol

Well it did beat Avatar's initial run. It won't win the coveted #1 of all time spot but it has beaten Avatar at it's own game first run to first run. They just didn't want to continue playing Avatar's game of letting it settle a bit before releasing a genuine extended cut. Which is fine if they don't really care. Though this faux re-release does suggest that they do.

Infinity War in 4K is awesome. When I got the new 4K player I used that as a comparision for the quality upgrade. Amazing the difference in shading and finer detailing. Can't wait to see Endgame now at home.

I blame the Hulk, he ruins everything, lol.

lol

Well you're not that far off Hulk is the deleted scene afterall :rotfl

To me - for a major company to do that for such a *puerile* reason, if that's the reason - it's just dumb:pfft:. Like a big *&^% contest but grow up already. For me it's a turn-off 'coz the whole MCU was some kinda "organic miracle" - story is well-known - Marvel had sold of a lot of its rights off, and IM1 exploded onto the scene.

And then they'd try one thing, and another - different directors, different writers, kept getting the casting right, things that never should have worked did (like GOTG) and TWS becomes a game changer - amazing costume renditions and the world falls in love with the characters...

Getting cheap about it at the end - I dunno, to me it's just cringe. I'll get the End Game BR, but while the MCU was always corporate, started feeling like profit was more important than that organic storytelling. Really glad I was there for the ride, but the ending hasn't been what I hoped would be.

Guess Marvel will be at SDCC but ironically for the first time I'd just wanna ask Feige to remember DC when they tried to force things. Plus if u are gonna do a re-release geez make it worth the time.

:goodpost:

Maybe i'm being too harsh on Disney because i'm also thinking that had they released a legit built into the movie 15-20 minutes extended cut (that's actually long for a movie) this weekend fans would've complained that it should've just been released in April.

Well you're not wrong lol

Hell they probably have had enough time since the initial release to film new Hulk kicking ass in the final battle sequences from scratch. Even 10 seconds of him thrashing aliens would have probably been enough to appease most who were disappointed with his role in the movie.

Yup all kidding aside just 5 minutes of that would've sufficed and I personally would've gone back just for that.

The narrative wouldn't have to be changed.

Even if it was just toxic 2012 Hulk fighting the chitauri from different angles and maybe him being confused by seeing himself would've been cool.

But nope cheap ass Disney strikes again lol

Hulk action added to the movie would have been a nice surprise. He's a favorite for sure and he is really the only character who I feel didn't quite get a full story arc. I thought Professor Hulk in the comics was ok but I always preferred Joe Fixit Hulk. For the movie I know Hulk was able to do the snap to bring everyone back but it would have been better closure for him taking out the loss of Black Widow on the battlefield against Thano's with some old fashion Hulk rage. Most of us would become unhinged losing a loved one especially with nothing left to lose or maybe I feel like that since I can understand the Punisher's motivations.

Yep, agreed jye and punisher.

Man even freaking Rocket has had an awesome over-arching character arc. Way back in the original GotG he was all "oh boo hoo you lost your wife and kids" to Drax compared to IW where he's doing exactly what he loves most (bossing people around while flying his own ship) yet voluntarily gets out of the pilot chair to go back and cheer Thor up. Then moments later he gives away one of his own coveted treasures (some dude's eye that he stole.)

Oops gotta go Outrider dropships are crashing down into Wakanda in 4K, lol. :yess:

Holy cuh-rap that movie. :thud:

After all the battles everyone who turns to ash disappears and then Thanos sits and smiles in satisfaction. The end. Still packs the same punch.

I can't believe IW/EG even exist.

Movie is awesome for sure. I enjoy so many aspects of the story. It has the big spectacle scenes and some smaller scenes that really come into play. I love the overall dynamic for characters who haven't encountered each other before and then having to figure out what to do. Strange and Stark going at it was a favorite for me. Loved watching the differences in them and how they started trusting each other.

Khev it really can't be overstated just how utterly insane it is that this consecutive MCU run exists.

Hollywood themselves don't even believe they pulled this off.

I am grateful that this super messed up marriage of financier coke heads, liars, narcissists, rapists and thieves and artist coke heads, liars, narcissists, rapists and thieves were able to give us such a historic event.

How they pulled that off is just a miracle of sorts.

I know it sounds like a broken record but it boggles the mind and will *always* boggle the mind, lol. Even that they nailed 99% of the casting choices across that many characters over that many years. Not a single Ezra Miller Flash/Oscar Isaac Apoc in sight. Unreal. The EG final battle had my audience cheering for every. single. character. :thud:

Yep I absolutely love the new dynamics and character pairings/groupings. Thor with the Guardians is some of the most entertaining stuff in the entire MCU. I mean just even saying that out loud/typing it. THOR. And the GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY. These guys are *not* instant live-action sells like a Batman or Blade. And they're some of the most endearing on-screen characters of all cbm's now.

Okay true, but they cheered for every character that, like, did stuff...

I will agree with those who think that IW is the "better" movie between it and EG. Just on account of the level of mastery required to juggle more than twice as many characters for so much of the run time compared to EG. I still prefer EG but yeah, what they pulled off with IW was even more insane.
