Okay *that* is a funny Joss Whedon diss. :lol "The Chitauri, the suckiest army in the galaxy," lol. Except Cap's response is a little weird since they *did* blow up the mothership.

They didn't think to blow it up. Stark just happened to throw a nuke at it. All Cap wanted to do was close the portal.

Regarding Falcon Winter Soldier show I bet Falcon getting the shield is a big misdirect and Bucky still becomes Cap to take on Zemo who just might let free Abomination!

I think what Cap meant is that they didn't know the mothership was "a thing" until after they had already spent 2-3 hours fighting the Chitauri. Plus Tony's reaction to Rocket makes sense given that he almost died blowing up the mothership.

Bit the bullet and bought it digitally too instead of just waiting for the disc version.

After watching it I have no regrets because I hadn't seen it since my initial viewing in theaters and I think I enjoyed it even more this time around in the comfort of my own home.

Man that 2:39 aspect ratio really makes that 4K HDR pop!

I can’t wait for Disney’s super cinemascope TROS on bluray...

:lol

Unfortunately the Movies Anywhere + Xfinity trick that worked for Alita doesn't display the open matte version of EG. :(

I bit the bullet and purchased it last night, saw the cropped widescreen and immediately called Xfinity to request a refund. Thankfully they complied.

I do think that EG is better suited to the 2.39:1 format than Alita at least, the opening scenes at HE's farm all the way up the attack on Thanos in his garden all looked good. The final battle though, what a crime to have that be cropped at home.

The film did suck me in all over again though, I can't wait to watch it in its entirety again. It's good that I turned it off last night because Xfinity was able to see how many minutes I watched in determining whether I could get a refund, lol.

Will it be enough to capture Finn's thickness?

Boyega’s hips should be used to sell Heinz BBQ sauce.

:lol

Dude you should just keep logging back in watch the EG trailer then quickly log back out making them super nervous with their fingers on the trigger.

They’ll be sweating from their foreheads thinking “He’ll slip up one day we’ll get him !”

Totally. :lol

And there must be some lag in their tracking because I started it once, saw the widescreen ratio and immediately turned it off. Then when the kids were in bed I watched all the way until Cap's support group scene. But when I talked to Xfinity today the guy said "oh I see you only watched a minute so sure we'll refund you," lol.

I would have kept the purchase if it was Dolby Vision 4K but Xfinity only does 1080p so it was doubly insulting, lol.

So what will look better, 4K disc with no DV *or* HDR10 or digital DV version?

Honestly Khev i’ve seen HDR10 content look better than DV it all comes down to the mechanism used to light the tv (FALD, Edge, Q or O etc), Nits and calibration.

It’s insane that I have multiple calibrations on my tv depending on if the movie being played is HDR10, DV, disc, streaming, HD or 4K.

If Box Set has it i’ll buy it remove the Imax ratio disc put in a regular 4K disc and returning it lol

Yep these aspect ratio/HDR shenanigans are forcing us to work the system, lol.

So the discs have no DV or HDR10 but digital is in DV. If a TV's calibrations are equal for both disc and digital will the digital actually end up looking better?

Right now I'm tempted to repurchase the digital version (through Vudu this time for 4K DV) and skip out on the physical release altogether like I did with Alita. Then I'll just keep my fingers crossed that the IS box set has DV and IMAX.

Theoretically since DV is dynamic in nature it’s supposed to outperform basic HDR10 which remains static no matter the needs of the movie palette so yes DV is better on paper but more importantly that data is translating into real world performance with DV always coming out on top as the winner.

But even that landscape is changing with not just HDR10 evolving into its own set of dynamic algorithms but other emerging tech as well.

Regarding EG that will definitely have to be a disc purchase as I need the IS to be uniform.

Future purchases may vary lol

Damn guys just get a good tv that supports both of them.

I don’t know if anyone here has an apple tv but you can pretend is imax by double tapping the black touch pad and making the movie zoom in bwhahahaha.

See this is what i mean about getting screwed by disney pictures, they push quality but gives us quantity, just like the TFA awakens 3d limited edition release.

Despite me having this movie i really want the imax cut, is it soo hard?

Its freaking funny watching Comcast Rise it’s way upto top by merging with all these other studios to topple Disney lolololol

Well Vudu sells the 4K DV for $24.99 while Target and BB will have the disc set for $29.99 so for an extra five bucks I might as well get both discs and digital but I have a feeling I'll only be watching the digital version since I'm a Dolby snob, lol.

There is only one other entertainment company that is capable of toppling Disney and that’s Disney lol

I pre-ordered the 4K Ultra HD DV earlier...I might just be a a snob also. :lol
