And I really like how reconciling with Cap (who he previously blamed for withholding info about his parents' death) gave Tony a moment with his dad that he otherwise would have never had.

Yup here?s your shield back and lets hope for the best but prepare for the worst.

I love the IM2 scenes with his father even more now.

IW is an IM movie. EG is a Cap movie (hence why Cap ends the movie not IM death). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
But they both should be Avenger films... IW always felt like one.. EG never did. Having said that.. The posters are cool with their color schemeIW (Red IM Movie) EG (Blue Cap Movie)

I don't even find the ending that great and I am not just saying that because of the lack of Hulk... I like the splash page shot. But as I said before it plays more like a Greatest hits trailer. It never stays long enough with one character to really make the action interesting. The IM, Cap, and Thor fight that proceeds the final battle is far more interesting IMO.

In fact if Tony does not die at the end of the battle it really offers nothing.

I agree about the Time Travel stuff being a bore. A friend of mine really liked the Tony and Steve 70's scene and thought it was a great character moment.. I just felt it was more retreading on things we have seen before.. Tony coming to terms with his dad and Steve misses Peggy and his old life.

I agree for the most part, with the notable exception being Scarlet Witch's face off with Thanos. That was a key point in the battle, forcing Thanos to have his ship bombard the field in order to escape her wrath. It also was the segue to Captain Marvel's dramatic entry.

The parts I find the most jarring upon repeated viewings are the sudden "quiet" moments in the midst of the battle, such as IM and Spidey hugging it out and the Star-Lord and Gamora reunion. Neither are quite as bad as Aquaman and Mera making out in the middle of that movie's final battle, but IMO they still are a bit too long & isolated given the setting. The IM/Spidey moment would have worked better just prior to the battle, but I get how trying to fit it in there would have likely ruined Cap's "Avengers Assemble" moment.

I guess because the focus is so much on Cap. IW May have been IM?s movie but all the other hero?s got plenty to do, plenty of screen time and great moments to shine. Thor, spidey, Dr Strange, so on an so forth...

Does not help that EG for me is a snooze fest for most the movie with a less interesting villain and the finale battle is just a hodgepodge of action clips and corny moments.

IW is a much better Avengers film. It?s almost a perfect Superhero film period. EG is just a major drop off for me.

That's his Professor Hulk induced Russo hate talking, lol. ;)

Then the emperor-gar has already won.

Believe me JAWS I feel for you dude but I was riveted on the edge of my seat throughout EG and in all honesty it?s because my heart and soul was just too deeply invested in the MCU by that point for me to be anything otherwise.

11 years with the same characters in the same consecutive narrative had a huge impact on me.

I mean in all seriousness JAWS regardless of the structure changes going from IW to EG what other studio has ever accomplished that it?s just absolutely insane what they pulled off.

I was re-watching of parts of EG, and in doing so I realized how incredibly cool it would have been if when Prof.Hulk snapped his fingers, the energy impact he sustained made his personality split again. Then when everyone was covered in rubble from the Thanos attack, Hulk could have been the one lifting up the rubble to protect his friends, revealing to the audience what had happened and then we could have had Hulk join in the fray with he fellow Avengers...would have been great.

:lol :lol

And then all they had to do was have a few scenes of Hulk destroying legions of Chitauri, killing the big Black Order guy, and then replace CM's scene of her temporarily grabbing Thanos' hand and briefly overpowering him until he cheats with the Power Stone with Hulk doing that instead. Then all four core Avengers could have been a part of the last ditch attempt to keep Thanos away from the glove until Stark sacrifices himself, just like at the end of A1.

Looks like we have a lot of support for revisionist history....or should I say rivera-ist history? I'll see myself out. :lol

That would have been perfect. The movie is great but it would be actual perfection had it played out this way :banghead

I loved Professor Hulk earlier in the movie. He definitely had his place and I wouldn't have begrudged it if only Rivera's idea and what Khev outlined here had been what happened towards the end.
