so straight up and erect ...like something suddenly came ....
"No, it's the children who are wrong."
The reanimated ghost of cinema legend Orson Welles has risen from his grave to decry the success of Disney's Marvel Cinematic Universe.
[Marvel is] "Total garbage, claimed Welles, who died of a heart attack in 1985. Lots of computer effects and flying stuff. NO THANK YOU."
Welles's statements echo those of fellow filmmakers Martin Scorsese and Francis Ford Coppola.
Welles is widely regarded as one of the most influential creatives of all time, and is especially remembered for his work on such projects as Citizen Kane, The Third Man, and Transformers: The Movie.
Putting aside the confirmation of life after death and the existence of an afterlife in which sentience is retained and time flows as normal, this is a big blow for the Marvel Universe. A growing number of filmmakers are expressing disappointment with their production model.
Despicable is a big word coming from the man who made Godfather III.
Not to mention he's the guy who cast Keanu Reeves as Jonathan Harker in Bram Stoker's Dracula. I'm surprised they didn't take away his Godfather Oscars for that bonehead move.
They were silent on AOTC but ripped on EG?
I do wonder how Scorsese and Coppola feel about Spielberg's popcorn movies. Spielberg is their buddy after all.
