Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

Only thing apprehensive about!

Khev let me tell I wish this movie only had the CM power level wild card to derail it.

Lets put the respect on the Russo/Feige where it belongs there is so much riding on this movie it’s literally a minefield of wild cards that can implode 11 years of investment!

Yeah sure CM is the wild card right now but not her inclusion more how she is utilized.

Ok lets break down those insane wild cards.

CM power level usage
Cap send off (just that alone Oomph)
Stark send off (also as much Oomph)
Hulk’s arc
Thanos outcome
Snap outcome
Time Travel
Multiverse
Other MCU movies being altered
New villain set up
New heroes set up

For real no joke when I say if AEG sticks its landing the Russo/Feige will have made cinematic history.

We are talking crazy levels of success AEG needs to deliver here not just the CM girl power dilema.

Russo’s wish they had it as easy as JJ does with iX lol

You know for whatever reason I rightly or wrongly have faith that the Russos won't drop the ball in embarrassing fashion on any of those items you listed. The only question will be will they hit singles, triples, or grand slam homeruns. And if they hit homeruns, oh man... :drool

But CM I fear might be too much of a hindrance for even them. We'll see. Hell maybe she'll even be decent in her own flick despite the unexciting trailers.

In JJ’s mind he thinks working on IX is this:

But the Russo’s see JJ’s work on IX as this when compared to AEG ending a 22 movie build up with over 30 main characters!

:lol :lol

I swear if the Russos deliver on a finale with 30+ heroes they'll forever change how forgiving I am with directors who stumble with one or two heroes in any genre, lol.

And yes ROTK had some cringey scenes but the battles were so epic and then all those little moments like "For Frodo," "how about dying side by side with a friend," "I can't carry it but I can carry you," "You bow to no one," etc., still elevates it as the greatest finale of all time for any series IMO. At least for now...

I haven't watched the LOTR films in years - I want to - but for some reason Fellowship isn't on my server. I'm not going to watch the other two if I can't watch the first one. :gah:

That moment chokes me up every time, it is such a perfect culmination of all the struggle from the first film to the end in a very profound statement. That's something AEG has pressure on it to deliver, if this film ends the line for characters, we need dialogue and moments that really drive home the impact of everything that led up to it that have as much weight as Aragorn's line did, and be powerful on repeat viewings.

For all that is great about IW, it's not a conclusion story, it doesn't give you that full sense of "this is what the last 10 years and 20+ films were about" for these characters, it delivers on finally seeing various separate groups come together and does so beautifully, but the payoff of following this franchise is still to come.

Remember that Brie filmed Endgame before she filmed her own movie, so The Russos actually had first crack at her (that sounds dirty).
Regardless, when apprehension sets in, I try to remember one thing that has yet to fail me ... in Feige and the Russos I trust.

I really freaking and wish, and cross my fingers if that they do alter the timelines we can at least see minor characters in the movies show up, the warriors three, the whole antman cast, stark enemies after the first avengers, also kind of interested how they will alter the TWS timeline with pierce not dying and hydra still alive, heck even ronan and xandar, one can wish. It would be the ultimate inclusion and culmination of everything.

For Jye's sake not gonna rant:cool:, but far more interested in any number of characters that IMO deserved far more in IW. Or didn't even show up, like Valkyrie.

Don't remember where I saw it but Russos said CM involvement will be done "tastefully". Whatever that means.

I used to. The Russos more than Feige. Feige has to answer to stockholders.

I wish I were as optimistic as you guys. Something os going very wrong for alot of studios right now. Granted , Marvel has kept it together mostly, but the best films lately are from smaller indi type filmmakers.

They have alot to wrap up in 3 hours. And I feel like thats just not enough time to do it correctly. The promo pics were are seeing are pretty terrible. I also fear they will go WAY out in left field with time travel and it may be just too much comic book for the average fan. I also think need culture fatigue is setting in. Sooner or later Disney and Marvel are gonna take a bath on a film, even if its good , because people will grow tired with it.

I hoping its gonna be the conclusion we all want, and not a jam packed mess that will only make sense to people like us who invest so much time in these character and worlds.

Directors have always voiced their opinion about how the movie studios control EVERYTHING. Especially from Disney

Unless they, like others before them, are right now becoming... the Russo sisters.

The Russos know what they’re doing. It’ll be ok

I get what you're saying, but if it does end up being a movie like that, I'll be just fine with the "mess". I happen to be one of the people you describe and couldn't care less if the average movie-going public likes the film as much as I do.

So rumor has it that we will get our first Full length Trailer during the Oscars.
