Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

AEG tracking for a 290-300 million opening weekend. :lol

If they can pull that off with a 3 hour run time I will :thud:

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

3 HOURS!!!???

Insert: No, no, no Superman gif

I don't have that kind of time. I only get 2 hours off this site at any given time.

Lol...

Gantu is the OG

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

BP's BP nomination has them cocky AF and swinging for the fences and beyond. I love it! :lol :rock

They're so confident that the film is only two months away without one single frame of action being teased yet!

Hey now that Gunn is gone and Taika is busy at SW you know what that means right!

That’s right time to GIVE US OUR 3 HOUR RUSSO CENTRIC AVENGERS MASTERPIECE that’s what that means! :rock

Russo were like thanks for the help in IW but now step aside we’re about to unleash the MCU LOTR that was said couldn’t be done.

Literally the only action shot was BW shooting her gun at a target and Cap tightening his straps. :lol

My wife did tear up when Stark was leaving a message for Pepper then she told me to unload the dishwasher lol

No real trailer either.

Both teasers so far were better than the IW trailers. :lol

One thing is certain...

MCU had a better Superman than the DCEU and the MCU ended up being a better SW adventure then the ST.

I don't know if that's sad but true or awesome but true but it *is* true. :lecture

My kids loved IW but were seriously rattled by the ending much like I was after ESB in 1980.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

That's awesome, lol.

By the way, they were 8 at the time.

They actually came up with it because my older daughter, who was 13 at the time, broke into tears and literally couldn't move from her seat for several minutes. She was silent during the ride home and remained that way for a good hour after.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

Yeah. My kids were 11 and 8. Their consensus at the time was that "it was a really good movie, but I don't know if I like it because of how it ended." That's how invested they were in rooting for the heroes. Of course I had so avoided spoilers for so long that I actually didn't know that it was just "Part I" and had kind of bought into the whole "it all comes down to this" marketing so even I was shocked, lol. When we got home and I googled that there was another one coming the following year it was a huge sigh of relief for my kids and then they really came around to loving it wholeheartedly.

It's been a long time since a popcorn event movie has had such an impact.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

Yup not since ROTK has an ending been this much anticipated.

I will say this though.

Remember how TDKR was a massive disappointment after the near masterpiece combo that was BB/TDK especially after that great ending in TDK.

Well if AEG doesn’t stick its landing it will make that TDKR disappointment seem like peanuts.

I have never seen as much riding on a movie as it is with AEG.

The Russo’s will be cinematic gods if they pull this off.

This is a first on so many levels.

Yes Joss Whedon broke new ground with Avengers but IW/AEG are operating at a whole new level of crazy!

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

Yes ROTK showed that even if you tell an overly long and bloated narrative with some cringey scenes here and there you can still end with a bang if you deliver on the action and the feels and all the major players stay true to their characters.

Captain Marvel's inclusion is the only thing I'm a little apprehensive about but otherwise if they nail this one it'll be SW OT/LOTR/MCU forever more.

Only thing apprehensive about!

Khev let me tell I wish this movie only had the CM power level wild card to derail it.

Lets put the respect on the Russo/Feige where it belongs there is so much riding on this movie it’s literally a minefield of wild cards that can implode 11 years of investment!

Yeah sure CM is the wild card right now but not her inclusion more how she is utilized.

Ok lets break down those insane wild cards.

CM power level usage
Cap send off (just that alone Oomph)
Stark send off (also as much Oomph)
Hulk’s arc
Thanos outcome
Snap outcome
Time Travel
Multiverse
Other MCU movies being altered
New villain set up
New heroes set up

For real no joke when I say if AEG sticks its landing the Russo/Feige will have made cinematic history.

We are talking crazy levels of success AEG needs to deliver here not just the CM girl power dilema.

Russo’s wish they had it as easy as JJ does with iX lol

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

Well, the thing we're worried about Captain Marvel being in Endgame was basically what that army of spirits was in ROTK

I really freaking and wish, and cross my fingers if that they do alter the timelines we can at least see minor characters in the movies show up, the warriors three, the whole antman cast, stark enemies after the first avengers, also kind of interested how they will alter the TWS timeline with pierce not dying and hydra still alive, heck even ronan and xandar, one can wish. It would be the ultimate inclusion and culmination of everything.

Yeah no doubt that kept ROTK from being 100% perfect.

Was the book the same way.

The possibilities are truly mind blowing.

In JJ’s mind he thinks working on IX is this:

But the Russo’s see JJ’s work on IX as this when compared to AEG ending a 22 movie build up with over 30 main characters!
