Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

Interesting speculation on Stranges time spent in the alternate outcomes:
https://comicbook.com/marvel/2019/02/09/avengers-infinity-war-doctor-strange-time-loop-theory/

Interesting.

"The insane amount of time in the time loop would explain why Strange held his own against Thanos, with nearly every Infinity Stones during the final battle on Titan. With nearly an infinite amount of lifetimes to live in the time loop, Strange had plenty of time to train new fighting techniques and methods, much like he did in his battle versus Dormammu in Doctor Strange"

I don't agree with this part. I don't think Thanos was trying to kill Strange in the fight. That's why Strange "held his on" against Thanos. Though it's possible that if he saw so many futures and spent so many years (5,000) in that time loop, that he could have learned new abilities.

As far as the Dormammu fight, I don't think Strange learned any new techniques. Still the best final boss fight in the MCU, imo.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

If I was Dormammu, I would have granted the Dr. eternal life and then I would encapsulate him somewhere deep and far away, never to be heard or seen again...

People overthink this stuff even when the filmmakers give you the simple answer.

Strange said it himself. Out of millions of possibilities, the heroes win one. That's all you need. And Strange has done what needed to be done to move everything toward that one single outcome.

The movie basically ended when Strange said there's one way to win.

One thing I didn’t like about IW was that the Russo’s had to copy Gunn’s and Taika’s directing styles for the Guardians and Thor. The Guardians humor in IW when they first find Thor was cringeworthy levels of bad

I hope with AEG we get pure Russo’s firing on all cylinders.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

I don't know I thought the humor worked for the Guardians. Especially with Rocket and Drax picking on Quill. Favorite line is "You know you can't eat dumbells" and Drax's follow up with the motions around neck and midsection are hilarious.

If anything the Russos learned from some of the mistakes of those two directors, as opposed to directly copying them. I thought the Russos handled most of the humor quite well. :dunno
