Spider-Man far from home has some ‘splainin to do in regards to Parker’s friends and why they aren’t off to college since there was a five year time jump. I guess they all got snapped as well. We shall see.

THAT MOVIE DOES HAVE A LOT OF EXPLAINING TO DO!! Are molten man/Hydro man elementals or are they an illusion from Mysterio, is he good or bad??? What’s been going on!?
I rolled my eyes watching that crappy movie LOOPER that had the kid from 3rd Rock wearing a fake nose. Well...It's Rian Johnson....I think his fetish is giant noses like Tarantino's is feet. But I digress: I hated the cutesy way they said to just ignore the time travel paradoxes cause it'll just ruin your enjoyment of the movie.
This was worse. The time travel was as convoluted a mess as it could be, and by rattling off time travel movies like Terminator and BTTF just made it a wink wink nudge nudge to the audience that the Russos didn't care and neither should we. We just need to "turn your brain off and go with it." Introducing time travel on this scale was a huge mistake. There are no stakes. Cap had all the stones. We didn't see him do anything with them. Maybe the time stone is in his pocket. Deaths can be undone, old people young again, mulitiple versions of same character in one scene. Maybe you guys will think so too after a few viewings and the excitement wears down. Time travel is a stupid, cheap, lazy deus ex to get out of anything.
FOR REAL....."Current" Nebula KILLED "young" Nebula. Why in the hell didn't she instantly stop existing???
It's got to be the rat! It's turning on the Quantum Realm device & bringing back Scott was the first domino to fall (It did make me wonder why Hope, Hank and Janet all needed to be there when he entered the QR if that's all it took to bring him back; maybe they had brunch planned afterwards? ). Without the rat, it's a 3 hour movie about how people deal with depression. But IM is a close second, what with figuring out the time travel and making the ultimate sacrifice.

In this movies version of time travel what you do in the past does not change the main future. Banner mentions this and that was the basis for the ancient ones whole spiel. When modern Nebula killed 2014 Nebula it just created an alternate branching timeline where now there is no Nebula in the 2014 timeline. That’s the reason Cap also went back to replace all the stones to keep those branching timelines from happening
BUT
There are still some holes there. If. Cap stayed in the past to live out his life he would have created an alternate timeline. So I don’t think he would have met our main Avenger timeline in his old age. He’s be off in the alternate timeline...I don’t ****ing know
ALSO! The space stone...when Tony heisted it from the past it was the cube...but they shattered down into stone form to put it in their gauntlet...but when Cap had to return it how did they get it back to cube form??? They would have had to do that or else they would have ****ed that timeline up because they’d have a stone and not the tesseract
This is why time travel is a *****. It creates so much overthinking

Yep, you don't get better Cap moments and the end to an 8 year arc than this.
Bummer for you though, especially with this one being the capstone (oh wow what a hilarious pun, I'm honestly not trying to rub it in, lol) to all that came before.
TFA/TA/TWS/CW/IW/AEG.
I can't even put into words how blown away I'm am that my favorite superhero will forever have these six films.
Yea this was definitely a film that will remain as one of the great cinema moments for me as well. So glad to have seen it with my kids, and that I kept glancing at my daughter (the big movie buff) and seeing her totally engaged.)
The audience gasped when Thanos has his head chopped off.....they actually gasped collectively. Then when Cap got his chance at Thanos they were cheering......people yelling YES and GO CAP! It was really special. One guy giggled when Thanos was snapped.....and that made the whole theater clap.
I normally do not see a film in the theater more than once, due to time constraints, this will be an exception, and a pretty big one considering its 3 hour plus with trailers
I also felt it was genius how they put the characters from IW in the background and really gave the story over to the non-snapped ones for this. They were the focus for the entire film.
Which of course was the Core Avengers.
As far as story arcs went the focus was definitely.
Tony=Cap (as it should be) > Hawkeye > Natasha> Thor > Hulk
Many of the other characters were sidelined as part of those arcs, which was needed as it would have made the film 12 hours long.
I get that Hulk fan feel disappointed, but he has had many stand alone films and I would say most of the audience is just not that engaged with him. I know I have not been since TIH. I never liked Marks Banner or Hulk.
In the end this was the 4th AVENGERS film and those other guys and gals had to bow out to the core cast. Hell the only ones that really shined were the ones we can expect to see films from.
CM=BP > The New Cap(great idea) > Wanda> Dr Strange > War Machine> Bucky.
Spider man is safe and bigger than all of those combined.
Being a huge WS fan, I also wish Bucky had a bigger part to play. But he has 3 films in which he is featured, and there is not much more to say for him I guess.
Riding high on cinema right now. They tied up 12 year perfectly.
Great job Disney.
Now pull some magic with SW, people are still hoping for that.....

Why was Ned acting like Peters been gone a long time? Either he was snapped, and wouldn’t have experienced the time jump, or he wasn’t and would be 5 years older...
Oh as far as all the time travel stuff....it works if you get your head out of the BTTF / Terminator ideas....
Actually BTTF gets it right there as well.
When Doc explains how the future changes for certain people and the reality becomes a “skewed tanget”
The ancient one agrees as well.
No matter what was said in the film the reality for most of the snapped still exists, and Thanos still wins in almost all the time lines as Strange says.
The reality was really only changed for the time line the people left behind were in with the core Avengers.
The whole you “disappear in the future for what you do in the PAST” only work if your IN the past. Nebula was killed in the present, so she already altered her time line from the original stories.
And as a result created an alternate time line right there.....as did Thanos.
That alternate time line does not affect the time line that already happened to the snap, which differs from BTTF, once a time line is created it cannot be wiped out.
Its only changed from that moment on creating another reality. So in essence BTTF just showed you Marty going to another reality, the reality of Doc dead, in an asylum and Biff powerful still exists, just not for the time traveler.

Nope, hell no, xmen time travel was amazing and done right, many ways better than this one, i was actually crying non stop seeing the OG xmen cast that was brought back, with endgame you were expecting it
Glad to see so many have the same issues as I do... The movie was great, but far from perfect.
I was surprised that when we got the Stan Lee cameo on screen that no in in my audience cheered like normal. They laughed/reacted to many things, yet not that quick clip. Especially since so many feel it is his last cameo as well (which isn't true if I remember correctly from an interview with Feige where he said they filmed many many little scenes with Stan that could be used in upcoming movies). I have a feeling very few even realized it was him in the clip since it was in the past. Looked spot on like many of the de-aging scenes..

Man the Russos must not give a crap about Captain Marvel.
It's like they were forced to add her to the end credits of IW but them said "okay fine we'll have her show up but five minutes is all she gets before we send her to the opposite side of the universe again", lol.
Not to sound in any way snarky. Was a 'wee bit disappointed that Nebula and Tony collectively didn't save themselves, but if I had to imagine an uber-powered character like CM showing up thought CM was handled perfectly. Didn't overshadow anyone, but obvious she's a force to be reckoned with. Since she just had her own movie IMO that was plenty.
Ironically was far happier with her - and the scene of Rocket slapping Thor totally won me over too think I'll get a fig of him and CM after all.
Angry about: Handling of Bucky, Falcon, Loki and others who I think deserved far more across IW and EG. Hadn't thought about Hulk as Ruffalo has lots of screen time but - yeah. Tho still figuring they are saving stuff for TV series, like VISION.
Baffled by? - I dunno, it's like I don't FEEL Nat is gone. Either because of upcoming movie or because re the comics folks can kind of "live" in the Soul Stone. Nat and Hawkeye were two favorites for me in EG.
Also baffled by - tho he's kinda losing it - Tony jumping Cap's *&^% when he arrives. He's telling Cap he needed him and Cap wasn't there etc. but by IW it had been a few years - and it seemed like Tony was the one still mad at Cap, all that time, and Cap was "there" as much as he could be e.g. the phone etc.
Also even when Tony shows up w. a shield - I like more restrained scenes, depending (like Cap finding Bucky in CW as Bucky isn't 100% so that was perfect IMO) but Tony and Cap to me - especially Steve - seemed a bit chilly. Tho Steve had logged some hard time fighting terrorists and other stuff by then; lost his country, so I guess his personality was a lot tougher.
Liked my second viewing better so guess I will go again tomorrow after all.
Man, to me those X-Men movies are awful... Most are unwatchable for me. I only enjoy Deadpool, followed by Logan and First Class.
They look like over budgeted TV shows from the 90's compared to the MCU.. I get they have their fan base, but in no way, shape or form are they "good" films. The only perfect thing we got was Patrick Stewart's Xavier. Impossible to ever top that casting choice. Every one else could've been cast better. Even Wolverine. Hugh Jackman played the part great, but really wasn't the right look. Be very interested to see who Feige comes up with for Wolverine when they revamp the X-Men into the MCU. I really hope they don't just choose a popular actor.
Same goes with J. Jonah Jameson in the Raimey Spidey films with J.K. Simmons. He along with Stewart will forever be iconic & perfect roles/portrayals of comic characters by a perfect actor.
Hulk and Ant-Man were both buried in the rubble at the end so they easily could have given all of Ant-Man's moments to Hulk and have him be the one bursting through the ground in a blind rage. I guess they must have determined that Paul Rudd was the bigger audience favorite.
Still though for JAWS and jye I'd say that AEG actually makes the original Avengers better which I'd think you guys can appreciate. I literally just watched TA the day before AEG and Cap's line to Stark about Steve "always having a way out" certainly came to full fruition in this film as does Banner's question to Tony "so you think I'm meant to be cursed like this? Why?"
Well I can't think of a greater purpose for his Hulk form than what he did in AEG.
Hopefully you guys will one day like me be able to see AEG for the great film that it is on its own regardless of how Hulk was portrayed. Remember there was a time when I thought The Avengers was as good and as big as it was ever going to get and let's face it Cap was just not that cool in it. Sure he did a couple "important" things just like Hulk in AEG but he certainly didn't have the cool moments given to Tony, Hulk, or even BW. But I came to appreciate TA despite the derpy cowl simply on account of it being such a well done film and was just glad that Cap was featured in it regardless of my personal biases.
Because I don't think any audiences came away from TA thinking that Cap was lame in it (that was just in my head) nor do I think that anyone buzzing while leaving the theater for AEG was laughing at how Hulk was portrayed. To most folks the story and everyone in it was just cool.
A couple additional moments that still make me chuckle the day after:
1. Scott Lang: "You guys seriously didn't know that those were HYDRA agents back then? They even *look* like bad guys."
2. Mjolnir and Stormbreaker getting confused as to who they should return to, and Thor's follow-up reaction, lol.
Also:
I found it interesting that they left 2012 Loki's fate unresolved after he escaped with the tesseract and then remembered oh yeah, the upcoming TV show, lol.
