Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

Aw man just read jye's comments reflecting your same sentiments. It really is pretty shocking. Did Hulk sleep with Feige's daughter or something, lol. If I thought that there was one certainty after IW it was that

Banner actually CHANGING into Hulk at the most epic moment possible would have been an absolute given!

Sorry guys, if I were in your shoes I know I'd feel the exact same way.

And you're right jye, they really did circle back on every imaginable character to close old loops except for

poor Liv Tyler.

Yeah I stayed away from Jyes comments until after I saw the film.. I am shocked I am not reading or hearing more of the same complaints. I guess nobody likes the Hulk :(

Yeah.. I would have liked
Betty showing up..

For the Record.. "Too many Stairs" got the biggest laugh from me. Over killing the Chitauri was good also. So not all Hulk moments were waisted

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

Can't decide which is better, but I'm leaning towards IW.

But man, EG's highs are incredibly powerful.

Maybe I'll just have to look at them as one movie.

And yes, I wish Hulk was handled better, but there's just too much good to ignore.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

How can I not, *especially* with the thing I hate most from that movie (Cap's suit) being the literal "butt" of AEG's jokes, lol. ;)

I must say that the extended curtain calls of every MCU character was executed flawlessly. Much more elegantly than the multiple endings of ROTK.

I am just happy that you now like The Avengers after years of pooping on it :lol

Don't agree about ROTK.. I never had an issue with that.. And after almost 12 hours of film.. More if I count the Extended cuts.. It needed that ending

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

One thing I will say...

That shot of a beat up Cap holding his broken shield facing Thanos and his army has to be my single most favorite shot in all of the MCU.

Alone yet defiantly standing his ground.

How can any hero ever epically stand up to anything that overwhelming ever again. :thud:

Luke's projection in front of the AT-AT's, lol.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

Funny, I heard some people in the theater stating that this was the last MCU film. Ever.

Oh I should have put in a disclaimer about ROTK. I'll never trash that film as it's absolutely one of my Top 10 all-times. I don't disagree with ROTK's multiple endings but I think the multiple fade to blacks really did feel like the movie was ENDING and then it just kept going. Whereas AEG in my mind had a more seamless segue into each individual curtain call.

I want to say that hopefully you'll change your tune on AEG like I did for The Avengers but who am I kidding unless you switch faves from Hulk to Cap that is just not gonna happen, lol.

Yeah I don't know.. I mean let Hulk do something and I feel better but I did not love the story of this film as a whole. I think it would have gone a long way in making me be more forgiving of things I did not like.

In all honesty.. Accept for Cap and Hawkeye.. I was not in love with most of the main characters storylines..

Oh well. You will all agree with me in a few years :lol :lol ;) ;)

That and when the rest of the good guys show up and Thanos points at them and both sides stand there is the moment every other movie studio and franchise gave up. :lol

Oh wow it just occurred to me that at the end of the movie Cap

used Ant-Man tech to go back in time while wielding all six Infinity Stones *and* Mjolnir.

Okay yeah I see why Hulk fans are pissed, lol.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

AND NOW! Xipo’s spoilerific review of Avengers: Endgame!!!

Avengers : Endgame 9/10
Rewatchability 8/10

An so it ends, as it should have. Tonys arc is complete, and he finally learns what his father admitted was his own failing, to care more about mankind than his own desires.

Overall impressions.

Best moments:
Seeing Hawkeye get his place as the Avenger he was supposed to be.
Seeing his fall and subsequent save was very fulfilling for this Hawkeye fan

Best scene by far Cap finally getting that hammer....they delivered in spades that scene. We were in A VERY lively audience and the cheers went ip during that scene (and many others)

The return of the snapped “Assemble” scene, really amazing.

Tony reuniting with Peter.

Tony re affirming he IS Iron Man.

I LOVED the short all girl team up, very very cool. I thought we might have a few stroke victims in the forums here with CM’s part in all of this....thankfully they pulled back from the abyss for those guys....

Dr Stranges Finger gesture.....thats a meme waiting to happen.

The set up in the beginning was suppose to be quiet and slow. The point was to see how the snap had screwed everyone up....perfectly done.

“On your Left” LOL

I actually thought the value of the Thor arc was to show how screwed up he was from all the death he has witnessed. The whole Lebowski vibe was only paid off seeing him get crushed when hearing Thanos mentioned.

Cap, was done perfectly. We got to see him get the life he deserved. Poignant to see a soldier goto the ultimate war, and still come home to his sweetheart.

Hulk was basically comic relief....sorry Hulk fans.....

I also really like the duality between BW and Hawkeye as to who would save whom. Given their history, its was a touching thing to see the cnmtinue to try to save each other.....and BW final bill was paid to save Clint.

“Hail Hydra”LOL

Amazed to see Natalie Portman again....what they pay her???

It was also nice to see that the touched back on just about every film, and the end tribute to the original Avengers during the credits was a nice final touch. Only after seeing all those amazing talents in the credits, do you realize how many big names have been involved in this.

Some really amazing cinema moments, had a great audience to view it with.

BTW You all realize the real hero of Endgame was right?

It was the Rat.....without the rat , allowing Scott to come back, none of the rest of the story could have happened.

Avengers Assemble was its own reward.

Sent from the inside of a giant slug in outer space.....

i didn’t pick up on “on your left” line until my second viewing, possibly due to the audience laughing so much, what a glorious and satisfying moment (amongst many)

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

I’m just gonna put all my initial thoughts in spoiler. My mind is racing so I’m just spitballing here...
That opening. Before it happened, I literally said “oh man” out loud. I loved seeing all the minor MCU characters make appearances. I was shocked to see Natalie Portman. Cap: “you’ve got to be s***ing me” :lol “I could do this all day” “I know” :lol I absolutely loved smart hulk lol. Say green! Tony and Cap were great as usual. Loved captain marvels new look. Fat Thor was fun. Has all the usual time travel plot holes. Nothing much to say there. I loved seeing scenes from other MCU movies from different perspectives. “I thought you were build a bear” :lol I did feel that Thanos was a little more “evil for the sake of being evil” as opposed to IW. Holy **** that end battle! Cap standing there facing Thanos.:panic: Thanos: “I am inevitable” Tony: “I am........Iron Man :thud: I’m not even kidding, tears were streaming down my face when Happy was talking to Tony’s daughter and told her that he liked cheeseburgers. I really loved caps send off. Perfection. Then to further add to the tears, those credits with the signatures. :monkey2

That’s all I got for now. I need to see it another time or two.
