Re: AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR - (April 27, 2018)

I enjoyed the film a lot, just got home from my second viewing. The only thing I didn't find to be the best was the snap was a bit inconsequential as others have said.

It's no secret that they'll use time travel in some way to fix things, and if the leaked photos from A4 are any indication
All the way back to the first Avengers movie
... which, could be a bit meh IMO.

I think that basically once some of the people start peacing out during that part, you're immediately like "oh okay, this isn't permanent" so it loses any weight it's trying to have.

Not a perfect movie by any means, but a fun mash up for sure.

I can't see the original post nearby to quote. But I don't think Gamora smiles when thanos says he accomplishes his goal. She smiles after he answered her question, what did it cost, and he says everything. I don't see her anything like death in the comic, apart from his love for her. I saw that scene as his own conscience eating at him. Skull told him of his cost to taking the soul stone. And that's it. Existential torment.

Maybe or maybe the other idea is accurate. Regardless, the fact that a movie like this has such layers, or ideas to analyze and discuss, is impressive. *looks over at DC toy shelf* ;_;

Another well thought out theory. But that's all we have for now is theories unless it's addressed in A4/Part 2 or in an interview with the Russo Bro's or Feige. No real right or wrong at this point.

But, It was a 2 part question from little Gamora. She smiled at the end rather than after each answer. :wink1: And I highly doubt they would ever take on making Death an actual physical manifestation as they did in the comics. But rather a very different manifestation for each individual, and in Thanos' case it was Gamora since she is what he loved the most.

That Red Skull appearance was awesome. Not a big fan of the first cap but really cool to see.

So unsatisfying it's a good movie but zero emotion connection.

There really needs to be a limit to how many characters can I stuff in to a movie

Re: AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR - (April 27, 2018)

Lol at IW's opening weekend out earning JL's lifetime domestic gross.

WB is so screwed. How the hell can DC ever get anyone to care about Darkseid now after what the entire world just witnessed Thanos do in IW.

Though I suppose Marvel has a similar dilemma, good luck getting anyone to care about Ant-Man and Wasp, lol. Though I just read that the new Ant-Man will be set before IW?

I think Marvel purposely need something light like Ant-Man to fill the gap while we wait for the next Avengers. It would make sense to me to set it around the same time that Thor Ragnarok is set, because yeah Micheal Pena ad-libs and some heist variation storyline while half the world is burning or dead might not work lol. Black Panther is set before Ragnarok, so it wont be the first time the last couple of years...

Captain Marvel should work well filling the gap. It'll be like one of those time filling TWD episodes set in the past... (ok, I just realised bringing up TWD isn't necessarily a good thing, lol)

Re: AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR - (April 27, 2018)

Unlike Johnson & Kennedy with Star Wars who flat out said they aren't making the movies for the fans, Marvel & Feige do want to make these movies for the fans. Honoring their characters long history and stories by rewarding those that have been loyal for many decades. How do you get upset if the movies follow the narrative upon which they are based on?

Agree 100% - I tweeted the same sentiment yesterday - its the only topic I tweet about because of the damage Johnson and Kennedy have done to SW.

Really enjoyed IW - really did.

Antman and the wasp is set after civil war events.

Well yes... but a fair bit of time has passed between Civil War and Infinity War. It's a matter of when after Civil War it's set.

Re: AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR - (April 27, 2018)

I loved it. My only complaint is that I would have liked to have seen Gwyneth Paltrow get raptured out of existence.

Re: AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR - (April 27, 2018)

This kind of amazes me. Marvel has already been promoting Captain Marvel here and there. Those that don't know the character must be the extreme of casual viewers who most likely haven't been part of the 10 year journey nor look forward to what comes next. But then again I still can't believe that every time Iv'e been at a MCU movie theater viewing that so many people get up and leave when the credits start. How big of a fan can they be if they don't realize there are the during/after credit scenes..

[/SPOILER]

A majority of the movie going public doesn't follow the movies like fans do. Fans live in a bit of a bubble where we surround ourselves with similar minded people who know these movies and their source material. Most of the movie going population don't go out to social media, or follow sites that post set photos, they simply go to the movies to watch a good movie and be entertained, which is what the Marvel movies for the most part are. I wasn't surprised when everyone who stuck around for the ending credit scene, was wondering who Nick Fury was calling, I was actually pretty excited for them because they had a mystery to solve and a exciting anticipation for the next movie, that sadly I don't have because I already know.

Re: AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR - (April 27, 2018)

I really enjoyed it....would of been nice if they had the balls to kill Tony or Capt. So many characters turned to dust at the end you really start not to care imo. Solid 7-10.

Ps I know the movies are far fetched but Tonys suit are getting ridiculous.

Winter Soldier still best Marvel film for me.

Re: AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR - (April 27, 2018)

That’s just crazy. I know most of them are probably coming back, but the more I dwell on it, the more I feel like they might shock us in A4.

Ned will be the one who brings down Thanos in the end!

Re: AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR - (April 27, 2018)

I've got no issues with Tony constantly evolving his suit. He's a super genius, and it's a pretty logical development from the Mark I he made in a cave, to the Mark III, to the Mark V, to the gallery of armors, to an almost liquid-type suit.
