Still don't understand paying for a digital copy. I get one free when I buy the physical copy.

I'm in the process of evolving my movie collection to all digital. At one time, digital was just the movie, but now most come with the same bonus features. Way I see it, $25 for discs plus digital or $15 for digital, I don't see the digital as free, I see it as only $10 for a disc. I will still get discs where I want the absolutely highest quality picture, but with Apple going 4K, I have 2 Apple TVs at home and I'm more likely to switch to that and pick a movie than take something off the shelf and put it in these days, too busy with kids and everything else.

I know a lot of people are going that way, but I just can't. I don't like having to depend on Internet to watch a movie. I'll always be a physical copy guy with the digital being a nice bonus.

Well I'm not big on streaming, I always keep a physical download on my computer of my Apple purchases, and my otherwise acquired digital copies are hard files I can hold onto lol.

I hear you though, I've resisted a long time. The big thing for me is clearing up my shelves of stuff that I just hardly ever watch, bought one time, and would like the ability to watch on a whim but who knows when that might be, Tommy Boy or Ace Ventura won't be watched with great frequency, but like this movie I may go disc, as their may be lots of extras.

yeah no freaking way. NO WAY... internet goes down all the time and if there are hurricanes or storms or tornadoes and the lines go down all you have are your movies to keep you some entertainment.

It is true that movies being online can be accessed at any time at any place. but What if you dont have your itunes account? what if you cant access it or it gets hacked? what then?

Plus you don’t actually own the digital copy. You can own the disc and take it with you wherever as well but especially with iTunes, if you purchase movies or music it’s not yours and you can’t transfer your library to someone else ever.

If you die all your purchases are lost and can not be given away. If the apps used for watching the movies are no longer used you’ve lost all your movies. I had this happen when Flixster stopped their streaming library service. I had a link to move my library to Vudu but I lost half my library from movies I paid for. I still had the discs but once you use that digital code it is no longer valid.

What happens when an old app gets replaced, or a new app, or new update no longer allows you to use that app? You get screwed. Same thing for digital books. I’d rather have a physical copy any day of the week than rely solely on the internet or technology to enjoy my purchases.

Let’s not forget the impending Zombie apocalypse where all electricity is gone. No TV, no computers, no cell phones, no internet. Just books.

I prefer a physical copy myself but I do get digital copies here and there.

I dont mind if you could buy the movie digitally and download it to your computer. because at least you can put it on a USB or an external hard drive or just keep it

The fact that your movies on Itunes are basically in jail and they only allow you to open them on like 3 computers only is a travesty.

I had a friend that had all his computers damaged and itunes would not let him open his movies on a new laptop. it said that he already used his 3 computers to authorize. he couldn't Deauthorize his damaged computers for some reason and he was locked out of his movies....

who wants to pay money to have Itunes keep your movie for you? i rather buy the damn blu ray and rip it to my computer
