Re: AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR - (May 4, 2018)

I miss the days when earning $700 million made a movie a massive colossal hit and not a relative failure. Why does a movie need to earn a billion to be considered a success?

'Coz it's better click bait for a relatively boring subject (profit/loss) than to struggle w. the crystal ball that is potential movie profits or do work like accurate reporting. (I can't do the equation unless I have all the variables)

Like factoring in BR/DVD/streaming profits, general BO rise/fall, pirating, increased home viewing, licensing deals, targeted audience, etc. (Tho to a studio non-BO profit is another golden goose). Plus a lot of folks have an attention span of 20 seconds on the 'net.

So the media have turned BO into a spectator sport complete w. catchy titles. And to "win" you have to keep making more and more money at the BO. Except I don't remember ever seeing a headline screaming about disk profits etc. Because by then a film has left theaters and nobody cares. But that's all part of film success now too.

Some BO flops have made enough in the home view market to be technically considered successes, but few report that e.g.

Crazy idea, will Asgard's uru metal end up being the origin of vibranium?

AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR - (May 4, 2018)

Could be a neat explanation and tie in.

That's what I was thinking! A nice way to make the whole thing come full circle. As it has been reported black panther has major connections (aside from being the last movie prior to infinity war) to infinity war. I'm so pumped!!!

Could also explain why vision was able to hold Thor's hammer as well

Asgardian metal and Vision's "new born" consciousness (innocence/not being human) allow him to pick up the hammer? That could be an interesting explanation.

Just high thoughts lol but somewhat make sense. Just trying to keep my addiction at bay until we're able to see the movie. I can't wait!

Interesting thoughts; They seem like a plausible explanation for why Vibranium is on Earth/Wakanda and possibly answer why Vision can left Mjolnir. I'm looking forward to this movie also! :rock

Ditto.

Think the trailer is delayed 'coz companies are frantically building so the 'net doesn't explode and timing the raising of our bills:cool:. All the fees will go up app. 7 minutes before IW official trailer release. Either pay or your accounts will be locked.:nana:

Can you imagine actually paying to watch a trailer? That's probably not far off either.
