Mike Myers just announced the HE'LL be playing Dr. Doom. "I've already done Evil - Doom won't be that much of a stretch."

I was being kind. The family and I stopped going to SDCC a long, long, time ago. We stopped going when the tickets reached a $100. Hell, we were bummed when they jumped from $25 to $50. Preview night was fun. Only way to get in was to do all 4 days.
Having to wait in line the whole day just to get into a panel seemed ridiculous. When my oldest daughter was little we used to hop from panel to panel with no trouble. It's one of her fondest memories. Trying to figure out which we could hit once one was done.

No to mention the place is way to small to have that large gathering now. I use to want to go but it just seems less “comic con” and more “entertainment and movies con”

Also to the guy that said “Jared Leto” in the crowd when it was about to be announced. Honestly that would have been interesting as all hell .

They should have announced Mahershala Ali as Doom. It's not like he's ever going to get the chance to play Blade in the MCU lol...

I can't see RDJ sitting still and smoldering, malevolently. If he does, why get RDJ for that?

Like I've said before I'm personally just releaved this whole "Kang thing" has finally been relegated to the crapper, where it should've been put already after the first few pitch meetings. The levels of dispair and disbelief I experienced, watching Majors' attempts to mimic emotions and facial expressions he had previously never once tried in his entire life, are nothing short of legendary. I'm hands down labeling it the most ill conceived trainwreck in the entirety of MCU history (There are several other candidates but not of this magnitude, considering this horrible character/actor/plot combo was to be the main foundation for the new upcoming Avengers movies).

Whatever RDJ decides to do with his new role It's very likely going to be good though. Just like Pascal in the Mandalorian he has the gift of making alot on screen using very little. Acting behind a mask is an extra challenging endeavor and there aren't many top action names out there who I believe can pull that off (pun intended). Let's just hope he does a more toned down Classic Doom and not a Stark Doom variant...

I would invoke Hugo Weaving as V for that, carried a whole film that way.
That is not what you will see here, if anyone thinks for a minute this ego is going to do most of his "acting" with the mask on.
Besides dramatic (I have arrived) walk in scenes, then quickly removes it, and tech fight scenes (which will again show the face inside), that pretty face and it's new beauty-scar, will be a mostly Maskless Doom.
Starting with the poster, he'll likely be holding it not wearing it.

*and before the crying starts, nowhere did I say he's not a good actor, saying it's delusional to think this guy is doing this act with the Mask mostly on.

This character isn't Doom, this will be a what-if fallen Tony Stark.
which is actually a fine character to explore, they are just (calling it)$elling it to you as Doom.

This movie is basically just gonna be their way of soft resetting the MCU. Bringing in Mutants, F4 and Iron Man back from the dead.

People seem thrilled that Hugh Jackman came back yet again to play Wolverine.

People hate that RDJ came back. Is it just because he's coming back to play Dr Doom, not Iron Man?

Would it be better if RDJ came back to play Iron Man, or would nothing make people happy at this point because it's more fun to make fun of Marvel/Disney?

Pretty much this....

We have a multiverse established already with multiple characters being re created in alternate versions

And entire show and comic called What If exists.

We saw Thanos rise from the dead as well, everyone was fine with that.

So why not a Stark in the multiverse that becomes Doom instead of Iron man so hard to swallow?

He basically was headed there before he went to the cave.

Can people really be serious they are this angry Doom is not some rando price from Latvia?
