Bunch of pics from Tommy Richardson. No idea if he modded it.

If that hasn't been repainted, (which looks like it hasn't), it is unreal....looks incredible!

I did justify it. Who is this?

Doesnt look ANYTHING like Depp....yet you know who it is.

Well that's not a fair comparison..

Is the HT V.1 Joker a Cosbaby? No.
Is the HT V.1 Joker a Manga/Anime inspired interpretation? No.
Is the HT V.1 Joker from the movie "The Dark Knight"? Yes.

Does it look like the Joker that appeared in that movie? No.
But according to you, if it has similarities it's good enough.

ok..

So if HT aquired the license for Tim Burtons Batman and made 1/6 scale Joker and Batman figures you'd have no problem if those figures looked like this:

..instead of this:

Assuming all the asthetics were correct (same clothing, make-up, hair, costumes, etc.) just with absolutely no likeness to the actual actors who portrayed the characters in the film that the figures are marketed as being from?

Because remember: that HT Joker isn't a DC/Comic book Joker it's an officially licensed TDK Movie Joker. Meaning it's suppose to represent the Joker you saw in that film as portrayed by the actor (Heath Ledger). Not just the Joker character in general. If that were the case, the movie license wouldn't be neccessary.

Hmmm.. interesting. So why do you repaint your stuff if you're not worried about your figures being accurate!? :google

Is this going to turn into the TDK thread that got locked for this same behaviour...?

Haha, check out the pants! It's the opposite of DC Direct.

Why is what people like such a big deal. If someone were arguing v1 vs. v2 regarding Ledger's anatomical likeness, fine, there's something to be said there. Liking the v1 portrait is the option of any collector. Yes, the v1 figure is made to be a representation of Heath Ledger as the Joker from The Dark Knight and it drops the ball a bit in that mission. However, it doesn't mean a person can't like it as is. If your goal is to have the best Ledger Joker replica figure, then v1's a failure without the new head. That's it, no need to bicker with one another over it. Bottom line is that you're satisfied with your purchases.

But I have to say that I agree with Devil_666 though. He has a solid point.

Besides, I'm willing to bet big bucks that most of us who bought both version of Joker will replace the v1 head with the v2 head and (possibly) keep the v2 body with the alternate head complete with its mask on.

We get a figure with a fantastic likeness and paint aps and people are ^^^^^ing???????

Some of you sound like you should be collecting Barbies.

Agreed 100%. I've said numerous times I like the V.1 head sculpt strictly as a Joker head. But in the context of it being a movie licensed sculpt, it's garbage. If people like it strictly as a Joker head that's cool. I'm with them. But people on here seem to honestly think it's a representation of a TDK Joker and flat out it's not. Period. So the discussion goes on.

Anyways..

My question would be: if this IS straight out the box would did he remove it to take pics of it on a bottle or whatever!? Why not just take pics of it as is on the BR outfit? That makes me think some type of paint mod was done to it. And unless I'm mistaken.. isn;t that bottle nail polish remover? Maybe he toned down some of the paint with it!? Regardless.. I'm happy so far with all the pics I've seen. Either or, this is going to look good!

There was probably something done to it but what folks have to remember is this figure comes with two heads so it is possible to get the movie accurate look, someone took this head off, put the slick haired look on to get the mask on and then put that head on a bottle to take pics.....

Right. Well that would be good news then especially for me because that's about the same amount of lighting my BR Joker will be getting.

:D

Given the various angles of the photos, and looking hard at the head, no mods seem to have been done, just a showing off of the new portrait as well as highlight how the neck is on a bigger angle to create the hunched look and make that change from the first Joker more obvious.

Looks like he got rid of some of the paint like the red going past the scar on the left side and on the upper lip.
