Re: Batgirl - Written, Directed and Produced by Joss Whedon

I dont want a joker based on these people

yawn. at least add something new you haven't posted a billion times in a thousand different threads blackmask.

You guys defenders of gangsta joker are repeating the same things defending this joker that you guys said when the movie came out.
Almost the exact same thing. The conversation in itself is redundant because everyone has already made it before.

If u want a different opinion then we can change the subject

Re: Batgirl - Written, Directed and Produced by Joss Whedon

-He's not 40s Joker.
-He's not Classic Joker.
-He's not Morrison/Azz/Snyder Joker.
-He's not even Arkham or DCAU Joker.
-He's not an interesting spin on the character.

Personal Conclusion: He ****ing rocks.

And my opinion, along with my reasons are as valid as any.

you're right he's kind of a mixture of them all! :lol

Re: Batgirl - Written, Directed and Produced by Joss Whedon

How to spot someone who doesn't know X character: "The comics are always being re-imagined, so what's the big deal?"

Letoker has one or 2 visual cues borrowed randomly from this or that version of the Joker. That's not enough to count him as a """spin-off""", and the characterization isn't there to score him any points either.

It's not a good Joker by any standards.

The only thing that could've made this Joker interesting was being Jason Todd, at least that way it wouldn't be real Joker.

Thanks mate.

I noticed it. But I also noticed that you didn't fix the last "point", so... it kinda makes the edit a moot point...

Can't we all just come out an admit that these movies are crap yet?

When Spider-Man 3 came out there was this huge debate with 50% of the people defending it is a great film. Now everyone admits it kind of sucked.

Same with Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

Same with the Andrew Garfield Spider-Man movies.

Seems like only recently people stopped defending the Star Wars prequels and we have all accepted that they were disasters.

How much longer are people going to keep defending Man of Steel, Suicide Squad, and the worst of them all, Batman v. Superman. These films are all god awful, borderline cinematic trainwrecks, with massive problems in plotting, tone, and characterization. Justice League and Wonder Woman aren't looking much better. They will never, ever be considered cinematic classics and are loathed by critics and audience alike. When can we just accept that fact and go forward?

Honestly I don't see too much of an option other than scrapping the whole thing and starting from scratch.

All 3 franchises u named are dead or rebooted.

This will be acknowledged as a failure once it ends. Never while active.
Hope of more movies is what keeps people defending it

And that's such a shame.

If the studios had listened to criticism after the first Man of Steel film, they could have improved the movies and MOS would have gone down as the "bad one". Just first film in the series where they were still finding their feet and trying to develop an identity. Instead they seem to be pressing forward with this vision, making the same mistakes over and over, as this thing goes down in flames, all the while with their fingers in their ears, convincing themselves that the critics are simply a vocal minority (or my favorite excuse, that these films are made "for the fans") instead of a vast, overwhelming majority that they really are.

Now its virtually too late to salvage this mess.

It's the other way around, only recently have people started realizing the prequels weren't so bad compared to what Disney has been pumping out.

Excluding SS I'll keep regarding MoS and BvS as 2 of the best CBMs ever made, certainly the best of the last decade.

with massive problems in plotting, tone, and characterization.
This is false.

loathed by critics and audience alike.
This only proves they're good, especially when one sees the kind of """critics""" and audience that dislikes them and their respective reviews and opinions.

Honestly I don't see too much of an option other than scrapping the whole thing and starting from scratch.
This I can agree with, this is a sinking ship and a failed experiment they're trying to steer clear into mainstream, with little chance of success.

The Dark Knight, Logan, Batman Begins, The Avengers, The Winter Soldier, Iron Man?

especially when one sees the kind of """critics""" and audience that dislikes them.
........all of them?

As much as I hate to say this, sometimes the mainstream is the mainstream because it works. That's not to say trying something different is a bad thing, but just because it is different does not make it quality. Sometimes experiments fail, and this one was a doozy.

I think people are beginning to appreciate Lucas' vision and intentions, not the final product or execution of said vision. A film series about Anakin and the fall of the Jedi and rise of the empire is indeed much better, creative, and interesting than TFA rehashing ANH. However, the final product sucked, because of the bad acting, the video game graphics, the terrible dialogue, the over choreographed fights with the pointless twirling, and stretching Anakin's story into a trilogy when it could have been done in two films.

TFA is lame, but the acting is far better, the action is better than most of the PT, and the story is a rehash, so it works because it's safe. Also, better CGI, and less green screens compared to AOTC and ROTS.

All of this is true, but they're still more interesting, appealing and re-watchable than TFA.

While TFA has all the production value shekels can buy, it's SW in name only.

Yes, it's perfectly understandable why the masses love TFA.

The Dark Knight, Logan, Batman Begins, The Avengers, The Winter Soldier, Iron Man?
Affirmative.

It's a case by case thing but the vast majority, take a look a the Clown Prince, he's a giant pleb who likes muscle women with more testosterone than him

To make money, absolutely.

But I'm all for the DC movies going mainstream tone-wise (as long as it's not another MCU), that's what DC is anyway.
