Re: Hot Toys Batman 1989: 1/6th scale Batmobile Collectible Vehicle - Specs & Pics

Nice reflection on BR. The only thing I would say is that Max Shrek is not really much of a challenge at the office for Bruce Wayne. Max wants Bruce to invest in his energy plant scam and Bruce basically calls him out for what it is and says heck no, so that probably annoyed him, but he can't touch Bruce in the corporate world, he's not a threat to him there at all. Sure, because he is funding/working with Penguin and the Red Triangle Gang, he amplifies the threat to Batman but until the last confrontation, the "moron" doesn't even know they're the same person.

Even if Max wasn't a true "rival" in the business world I saw him as at least enough of a nuisance/thorn that Bruce would still have his hands full dealing with him. As for him being a "moron" at the end, I don't know, I just got a big chuckle out of Shrek both insulting and respecting him at the same time. Bruce, you pathetic nothing, why are you dressed as Batman, a legendary figure? I thought it was great.

How is that international shipping to Australia is LESS than shipping within the U.S.?!?!? Mine is $99 to ship across 2 states!

yeah something seems off about these shipping quotes. has anyone tried to call sideshow to inquire about these drastic differences in shipping charges? international shipping can not be lower then stateside. something is off.

Re: Hot Toys Batman 1989: 1/6th scale Batmobile Collectible Vehicle - Specs & Pics

I just called. They say that is the correct shipping amount. It is 32 lbs and 4 feet long. They can postpone final payment if you don't have the full funds ready by the 15th but they won't split it up into another flex payment.

did you ask them why the difference with the international shipping? why it seems lower them stateside?

Re: Hot Toys Batman 1989: 1/6th scale Batmobile Collectible Vehicle - Specs & Pics

I actually wasn't planning on flipping the BD Mk VII (I wanted to pose Avengers Cap on the Chitauri base) but if HT reveals BR figures in all their glory at SDCC I don't see how I'll be able to resist pulling the trigger on the car if Tony is going to allow me to do it for $300.

Re: Hot Toys Batman 1989: 1/6th scale Batmobile Collectible Vehicle - Specs & Pics

I know and I really hate to think about it being all dented with deep puncture marks.....the box is just as important. Hell I hate my shipper box being scuffed lol....I always go for the pack out tho.

It's a nice looking box but i'm ok with dents and scuffs as long as the product is protected.

I was thinking of covering it and using it as a base

Yeah, i am waiting to find see if they release Returns or Arkham figures first. Which ever they do, that Batman gets to go with this beautiful work of art.

Re: Hot Toys Batman 1989: 1/6th scale Batmobile Collectible Vehicle - Specs & Pics

I wonder what the actual shipping cost on this thing will be via UPS Ground with whatever negotiated rates BBTS and Sideshow have. Either BBTS is losing on shipping or Sideshow is tacking on.

Re: Hot Toys Batman 1989: 1/6th scale Batmobile Collectible Vehicle - Specs & Pics

Ss is tacking on big time. They pulled this crap a couple of weeks ago with the ivy pf. How can shipping for this and ivy be cheaper to ship overseas and Canada, than within the states. Doesn't make any sense. Talking 30-40 bucks difference from overseas to stateside costs.

Got to make up for free shipping on some items and all the back and forth when they ship ****ty product.

Re: Hot Toys Batman 1989: 1/6th scale Batmobile Collectible Vehicle - Specs & Pics

I'm happy I ordered this from BBTS before it sells out.

Re: Hot Toys Batman 1989: 1/6th scale Batmobile Collectible Vehicle - Specs & Pics

The adult side of me is saying "No, don't buy it!"....but the kid in me is saying "Shut up old man, buy it!"

Kinda like this old commercial.

Re: Hot Toys Batman 1989: 1/6th scale Batmobile Collectible Vehicle - Specs & Pics

I wonder if they gave Max a son to parallel Bruce being an orphan.

Maybe, but I think there's a line in there about fathers to parallel the penguins parents.

Edit: just remembered, penguin tried to kill all the first sons. That's why max has a kid

Re: Hot Toys Batman 1989: 1/6th scale Batmobile Collectible Vehicle - Specs & Pics

I have my final payment on july 25, the shipping to Switzerland ammounts to 137.32$. So it seems that it's higher than anywhere else

wow, that is cool. They must get a major discount. I have been checking with the UPS shipping calculator and picking random spots around the country. the cheapest i could get it down to was $87 and the most expensive (for next day) was $826 :horror

Re: Hot Toys Batman 1989: 1/6th scale Batmobile Collectible Vehicle - Specs & Pics

I would imagine BBTS has a very good shipping discount. The volume they ship and the amounts with insurance they ship has to be a very pretty penny. They sell just about every collectible in size and shape you could think of. If that $45 bucks holds it is definitely a great deal.

Had an extensive talk with one SS rep again:
Shipping is around 100 bucks because of the size and weight.
Some other countries get it a little cheaper in order to compensate for the costs on top in order to pick it up(customs).
BBTS is eating the shipping cost. They supply BBTS with everything HT related, and they have the same discount program with UPS that BBTS might have, insurance, hundreds of signature confirmations, etc. He also said that the number of calls regarding this is unimaginable, and with good reason. He even considers it outrageously expensive. And he also mentioned that even with the specs on the site, we can not imagine how massive this thing is.
If you guys have your order with BBTS already, I think you are good to estimate your shipping charges at less than $50.
I used 6000 something points on this, plus the NRD, so if I were to cancel, I would lose almost $360. Not worth the trade off.
This sucks but it is what it is, my rant about the shipping charges is officially over.
I can't wait for this piece, I literally can't.

Re: Hot Toys Batman 1989: 1/6th scale Batmobile Collectible Vehicle - Specs & Pics

This thing is gonna be limited to "local pickup only" on the second-hand market :p

You and me both I can't wait, but i took the sacrifice and got this preordered from HK. I just want the extra stuff that the Hot Toys Store gives out on their purchases. It might cost me close to 200usd on shipping though, but we will see. My wallet is going to have a heart attack.
