Alex just emailed me and said my partial refund should be completed on Monday. They're certainly taking their time on these. :(

I got mine x2 last few week
Have to find a proper display space
No issues on either one

Thats what I already mentioned, but its approximate .. I need exact.
Those numbers are pretty spot on; I haven't measured it but I had measured the shelf where it now resides beforehand to ensure it was going to fit - and it takes up exactly the amount of space I'd expected. The 16" width is at the rear wheels, and the 39" length includes the tailfins.

So, I'm at my LCS yesterday and the Sideshow rep there tells me that she got an e-mail saying my Batmobile should be in the next shipment "in a couple of weeks or so"....
"Great", I think. Gives me time to set aside the funds to pay for this monstrous vehicle.

Today, she left a message on my machine that basically said "Uhh, guess what? 'Couple of weeks' became now."

Oh, sh--

Won't be able to grab it for at least the next couple of weeks but we all agreed the most prudent thing, in light of all this 'scuffs and scratches' hoo-ha, would be for me to come down and inspect it, at the very least.

So, in I went...

Sweet Jeebus, that box is huge.

We got it out of the shipper, cracked the tape, yanked out the styrofoam protection w/ accessories and...
First noticeable thing was some visible scratching on the shield. No biggie. Could not care less. Its inclusion or condition was never going to be a dealbreaker for me. It's the car underneath I'm all about.

We gently lifted the shield to reveal the prize underneath...

Moment-of-truth time....

Flawless. 100% scratch-free. And believe me, I was lookin'...

This thing is so pristine, I swear I could see it glowing with a heavenly light. :rotfl

Won't have it back home for at least a couple of weeks but it sure is nice to know there's nothing to worry about regarding its condition. :yess:

And for the final picture. :clap

Happy collecting! :wave

That room is probably too hot to store the Batmobile in... I mean, your clock is melting man... :lol

On a side note, if you aren't going to be using that closet you might as well put up some wall shelves in there to sit the Batmobile on, and then you wouldn't have to use the turn around riser thing with it.

I was inspecting my scuffmobile further because I'm considering taking the $80 credit and I found 3 more light scratches throughout the car (only visible under certain angles). There also appears to be a fingerprint in the finish, but I really need to get the light at the correct angle to see it.

Just got the Batmobile this afternoon - UPS guy practically threw it down, which freaked me out a bit. The shipper and inside box have some scruffs and tear. But thankfully the car itself is scratch free, as is the cocoon. Widows don't have the glue either.

I feel bad for all the guys who received this car with scratches, since it's BS that something this pricey should cause all that headache.

I got mine from sideshow and was ready to call them if it had marks, but I guess I lucked out.

Have to say, I've grown to love this. Everyday when I pass by it I stop and look at it for a moment. Kinda sad I suppose! But it is amazing that we actually got a 1/6 version of this that was affordable. And I finally got my FedEx duty bill, not as bad as I had expected, so SS ended being a really good option for me this time around. Thankfully I didn't have any scratches though, not sure what I would have done.

What do I do? My supplier is having issues trying to ship this item from Hong Kong to the states. The box is too big for US standards by .40meters, and Hong Kong post states that the it has to be a combined measurements of 2.75meters for them to send it to the States.

My supplier thought of cutting the box and making it shorter.

I did my research and some HK shippers auctions are having their batmobile shipped with no box. On the good positive note, he inspected the batmobile and it's perfect 100% scratch free, on everything but I was thinking that maybe he could take it out of the box and send it like that and then break down the box and cover and send it as is... either way is risky...

No way would I accept this put of box. I saw some HK dealers trying to ask crazy prices for this, even though its shipped without a box! What a backfire.

Don't do it man. You will end up with a damaged car and no comeback.
Get a full refund. Order locally or from someone who you know will have to deal with tbd issues you find in hand.

I would never ever have this shipped without the box. It's heavy, big and will move around in the box without some solid stuff to hold it in place when the delivery companies toss it, drop it and kick it around.

I can almost guarantee damage shipping it that way.

That is the good thing I know the supplier for over 9 nine years so he is good, and I trust him, but for some odd reason I want to believe he would take the batmoblie to HK post and have them deliver it with the size of the box, but US policy is very strict. I will wait and see what he comes up with.

A testimony to great design... was this an Anton First design??

Man, I get a lot of stuff from HK from a trusted source, but I still would not recommend getting this from there. That's why I went with SS on this, normally I wouldn't. I heard about the box size thing too, absolutely no way in hell I would get this shipped without a box. Regardless of the trustworthiness of the seller. Wait till you see th thing in hand and you will understand.
