STILL waiting for my RMA from Sideshow. I am getting pissed. This is ridiculous. :tap

I am still in a waiting game with SS... With both the scratches and the box damage, I have to give it serious thought before accepting a $75 credit and having no recourse if I find something else wrong.

At the same time... Taking the full refund and having to box this baby up would almost be painful. :( It isn't the Batmobile's fault it's scratched... It just wants to stay home and be loved. :peace

Sallah
You can ask them for a $100 or $80 refund. AE was offering me $100 partial refund once they talked with Sideshow. They're trying hard to make us keep it so it shouldn't be hard to convince them.

And I know what you mean, I can still hear the sound of the tires running along my drawer where it once was displayed 15 minutes ago. :lol

BBTS sent another Batmobile 1989 notice email again. Basically the same email from last Thursday with addition of

*****If you have already sent us a reply, we have it on file and there will be no need to reply to this email again.*****

I'm still waiting patiently as I was probably second to last to PO at the $580 price.

It's up to $630 now through them with $85 estimated UPS shipping(which I think could very well be even more). That's what convinced me to keep the one I got from AE.

Bbts should put a plastic layer over the batmobile, then place the shield over the layer. Best method for them to prevent damage. I would also add a "this side up" sticker.

ya'll are making me nervous for when mine finally arrives. all this scruff talk is making me anxious. just curious, if you ask sideshow to open your box to check for damages prior to shipping would they do that or is that a no?

Nope, Sideshow has already said they won't do it. BBTS is the only retailer that will unless you buy one in a store and inspect it first.

Received an email back from BBTS on thier inspection process....

Good Morning,

We will be inspecting the unit which can easily be done without removing the actual vehicle itself. The styrofoam inserts pick up and then the last cover is able to be removed accordingly. Once that is finished the cocoon is removed and the vehicle will be looked over for blemishes. We believe that the Batmobiles were packaged damaged prior to them leaving the manufacturer. The foam inserts on the cocoon do not always reflect the proper alignment where scratching is occurring so it could very well be something different which was done prior.

Please let us know if you experience any further complications.

Have a great day!

This is the reply that I sent back to them just now......
to BBTS

Sounds like a plan and I appreciate your team offering this inspection service. I was just wondering if there was some extra foam or bubble wrap that can be added in between the Cocoon before placing back on the Batmobile. I think this would help protect from scratches if there is any movement. I feel placing the Cocoon back on the Batmobile properly will be harder than removing it when you open the box. So those are my concerns... Let me know if you would be offering a small sheet of Bubble wrap between the Cocoon and the Batmobile.
Thanks again

Where did you get yours from? I'm was afraid SSC might repackage some of the damaged ones that got send back as new, if they do, there will be hell!

Midtown Comics, and they don't reply me!!

BBTS always will look out for their customers! They have A+ service out of all the online retailers. They are one of the best if not the best on customers service.

I just got an email from BBTS customer service. They are getting a new batch in 1-3 days and are asking customers if they want it factory sealed, or the BBTS crew will open and inspect before they ship.

Hope mine is in that batch!!!!

anyone found a way to fix the scruffs yet?

I have heard using a cloth to polish in toothpaste can repair scratches on a CD... Now I have no idea if that fix can apply to other materials or not, and I am WAY too scared to try it on my Batmobile, but I am wondering if it might be able to alleviate some of the "lesser" scratches?

Toothpaste sometimes is very abrasive on some materiales, and do more scratches.
There is a nice product, called "Novus", I have used it to remove scratches on acrilic cases...
I don't know if this will work on the batmobile, but i think it's better than toothpaste

Hey Sallah me and my GF watched your review on youtube. My GF said that you have the cutest review of the batmobile on youtube! Is that your son in the video?

I wouldn't try it. You risk oxidization of the paint.

But, the batmobile is painted? or is just a big piece of black plastic?
Cause, if it's just black plastic, a very patient polish of it, will clean any scratch.
There are some Polishing kits, used on modeling, that are pads with diferent grids, from 2400 to 8000. Those are used to polish the transparent pastics and paint aplications.
