Re: Hot Toys Batman 1989: 1/6th scale Batmobile Collectible Vehicle - Specs & Pics

Just my personal dilemma here...but...my collection, or at least the pieces of my collection I'm planning on displaying, are 1:1 and Premium Formats. The only oddball piece was going to be the 89 Joker, and that's because I have no choice in the matter..I MUST have it. It's just incredible. I didn't even order the 89 Batman because I really just wanted the Joker. The Batmobile changes my plans a bit though. Now if I display the Batmobile I'll have to buy Batman as well. But I think that the size of the Batmobile, along with Batman and Joker, will display well with the rest of my larger pieces, even being the only 1:6 stuff on display. I would have loved if the Batman and Joker were PF scale, but then the Batmobile would be too large to display. So...all things considered, maybe this is the best case scenario. :panic: :dunno

You're ____ed if Sideshow makes PF versions of '89 Batman and Joker or Hot Toys announces 1/4 versions of them. :lol

I ordered the tumbler instead of this. If I had to go into battle, I'd take the tumbler over this phallic roadster. :lol

Make love not war. 89 would get you all the _____, while the Crumbler would get you all the wee-wees.

:lol:lol If you rub the 89 Batmobile long enough it'll spit at you.

Sill prefer the Tumbler. :peace

Why do you prefer the Tumbler over the '89 Batmobile VASith?

People can say what they will about the quality of Burton's Batman films vs. Nolan's Batman films, or Keaton vs. Bale, or Nicholson vs. Ledger. There are bound to be preferences. In most cases, I have a hard time preferring one over the other when it comes to these kind of debates.

However, I can't, for the life of me understand why someone would like the Tumbler over the Batmobile. What does it do that would put it over the top? Because it can ____ing jump? Because it can jump bridges with tow cables? Because people other than Batman, like Gordon and Bane have rode or owns one? :lol

Aesthetically the Furst Batmobile kills the Tumbler. Then when you get into the amount of features and gadgets, there's no comparison. I'll give the Tumbler credit though, it gave us the Batpod and that cool chase scene in TDK. That's it though.

C'mon, don't bull____ me.

I'm going to buy both, but if I have to choose only one, 89 Batmobile will be my answer....

Now, I hope HT confirms the 89 Batwing :yess:

I would so freakin love a Batwing. But we have to wait almost 2 years (if no delays)for this since we first saw it. I dont think I could handle the wait for the Batwing. Im about to lose it now as it is.

I like both. Like I said the 89 movie was important in my life...got a Batman patch for my denim jacket and all. Yes I was cool. :slap I like both movies...both have their strong and weak points.

As a toy/collectible I just prefer the Tumbler. It has more lights (I like things that light up...yes I'm stupid), I also think with the flaps up it's more of a dynamic piece. Especially compared to the 89 version with the armor over it. IMHO there is much more detail and nuance on the Tumbler compared to the 89 BM. I'm not bashing the 89 one at all..I'm just stating that between the 2, I chose the Tumbler. The 89 def has more gadgets, but I still drool more looking at the in hand pics of the first tumbler that came out. Again...it looks much more dynamic to me.

EDIT: And one other thing. The Dark Knight Returns comic was my favorite as a kid when it came out...I still have the original issues in plastic....it was "THAT" comic to me...it was a bridge maybe from teens to early adult. And the tumbler reminds me much more of the bat mobile in that comic compared to the 89 version.

EDIT 2: This just seems sexier to me.

I love the machine guns on the 89.

Good post VAS but I believe the '89 Batmobile is going to have way more lights.

I mean we'll get the 4 red tail lights in the back, the 2 yellow head lights in the front and all those awesome lights in the interior on the dash board.

That'll be way more those small blue/white LEDS that are on the Tumbler, especially if the screen and lights on the instrument panel light up. If those red and green lights are electronic, this thing will be even more amazing.

Also, is anyone else impressed with thefunctionality of the grappling hook? It looks like the 4 arms can close in and the hook goes into the vehicle with a valve panel that closes it up.

Great pic of your Tumbler. How do you display it?

Fresh new paint work.
Goodbye gloss black....
Just the way I like it.

Here's just me sharing my CM/Toynami Batmobile after a new paint work.

I guess better pics come later when i get around to take better pics.
But for now, you can settle with a quick phone pic.

Nice work! Spray can or airbrush? Masking it off must've been a pain, but it looks like it was done properly and all of the details are clean and sharp.
