Thanks JB24.
Mine is currently sitting on my display room floor with a towel over it until I have time to move everything around and display this properly. I love this thing.

So pretty! So shiny. You know under certain lighting it could be the Returns car. Just needs wipers. Though I think wipers ruins the look.

Does the shield not remind anyone of the Aliens ships or Giger related?

Yeah the color of the paint is a mix of 89 and returns. But if you look at the car in returns, the paint is not so glossy. It's a little bit more shiny than in 89, a sort of sheen black but not as glossy as toynami batmobile.

My opinion is that HT wanted to make an interpretation of the Burton Batmobile, mixing the 89 and returns. If they planed to do the returns one, i don't think they had blowed their cartridges adding the returns gadgets on the 89...

But maybye i'm wrong...

I'm curious if anyone knows what they do with all of these damaged items. I know BBTS is selling a damaged one but I have read about so many of them being scratched and returned and haven't seen them up for sale as damaged goods. Do they fix the damage and ship them again? Just wondering because that is quite a lot of cost I'm assuming (shipping and the cost to make the actual batmobile) to not turn a profit due to some minor scratches.

If they ever release the Returns line, they could fix the damage on these and re-issue them under the Returns banner, just as the re-issue Bat-Pod was released under the TDKR line.

Sure, it's gotta be expensive to take back and repair all of these Batmobiles to fix, repaint (at least the wheels to black) and resell as Returns versions---but probably not as expensive as building up the total Returns Batmobile inventory from scratch. Heck, they might not even manufacture any completely brand-new Batmobiles, and use only the 89s that were sent back for a "very limited edition" run of the Returns version. Since it's gonna be that much rarer, they bump up the price a bit, and make some of that lost money back.

Thanks JB24.

You should remove the towel. Seeing that beauty will definitely give you the motivation to move everything around and display it as the centerpiece of your collection room. :clap

But dust!

Waiting until i'm off for Christmas. Then I'll figure it all out.

I stumbled across this vid on youtube and thought it would be cool to share - it is the original batmobile from returns which has been fixed up and made road worthy

I'm going to be starting my custom display build very soon!

Although inspired by the Granas Ikea conversions, I just couldn't find a good one around here (especially finding one with flawless glass), so I went the brand new route.

Pics to follow! If I get the chance, I'll try to do a step by step (provided it's not a beautiful disaster) and share.

I get that some people like to keep their 'formulas' fairly private, but I always appreciate the help whenever I get it, so I like to pay it forward.

Wish me luck!

Why does it seem small?

Custom display cases aside. How are most of you guys displaying your batmobile? Anyone know ikea furniture besta/billy or anything that will house it nice? I need an upgrade

Just got mine today and I absolutely love it. The only thing in wish they would've done is added a few more LEDs for the turbine in the back. Other than that this beast is absolutely incredible. I would love to see what people are doing for display cases because that is a pretty tall order
