Just ordered my 3rd batmobile, last 2 were both damaged on the cockpit roof from cocoon rubbing, both were from local hot toys distributor here in Australia.

Ordered directly from sideshow this time.. They assured me it will be checked for damage and protected to prevent any damage through shipment. Hopefully 2 weeks , 3rd time lucky?!?! :D

I'm curious if anyone knows what they do with all of these damaged items. I know BBTS is selling a damaged one but I have read about so many of them being scratched and returned and haven't seen them up for sale as damaged goods. Do they fix the damage and ship them again? Just wondering because that is quite a lot of cost I'm assuming (shipping and the cost to make the actual batmobile) to not turn a profit due to some minor scratches.

For me, whenever I hear "Batmobile" the design from the 89 film is always what I think of. With the animated series version a close second. The long front end and fins with the fire shooting out of the back (sorry Forever version but i dont think batman would go with the neon lights, nice try though). Personally I think the tumbler is the tumbler I don't really consider it a batmobile. And the dark knight rises didn't help with that opinion with all of the camo tumblers rolling around. Could you imagine several burton batmobile roaming the streets of gotham at the same time? That's tough for me. I like the idea that the batmobile is batmans special, one of a kind car and the 89 version says "batman" much more than the militaristic tumbler, even if it is painted black. But that's just me.

Absolutely agreed on all counts. TDKR had a big part in making me fall out of love with the Tumbler. It really diminished it as a 'batmobile'.

I don't think you can really compare the Batmobile to the Tumbler. One is functional and one is a fashion item.

It's like comparing the movies. Two very different animals I think.

You can at least say that the 89mobile is more of what people expect of a Batmobile than the Tumbler was, no?

Tumbler is more realistic as a crimefighting vehicle but if you're prepared to suspend disbelief you've gotta go with the '89. Its such a beautiful design and as Lava206 said it is exclusively Batman's car - you don't see multiple camo versions being driven around by bad guys taking away from its uniqueness.

Still loving the HT car, no regrets about buying whatsoever. Not even finally getting DX13 has stopped me from looking at this and going '**** yeah' in my head.

Agreed. The Tumbler is a fine machine, but it's no Batmobile. It's an assembly line product with a custom spray job.
The 89 Machine IS a Batmobile . It's The Batmans machine, and uniquely his.
As is the even more iconic TV Batmobile that West drives. Only The Bat could have one of those.
After all us said and done though, I wouldn't pass on any of the three machines.

I feel like many of us would be saying the same about the tumbler if it came out in 89....if the 89 batmobile came out today, I might think it was a goof or a little cornballs...giggle....but I remember the 89 from my youth...I hum the elfman theme when I see it....again its fun but I feel like the tumbler is batmans machine as well...minus the obvious bat decals and such...

I like the 89 Batmobile better than the Tumbler but it's due to my personal preference. For me, the 89 Batmobile looks sleeker and more elegant than the Tumbler. However, the Tumbler looks like a bad *** vehicle that is ready for any type of action.

I think the Tumbler will appeal more to people who like to drive big trucks. The 89 Batmobile will have more appeal to people who like to drive sports cars or two-door cars (practicality aside).

Nice pics Fremen! Those pics make me want to take my 89 Batmobile out of its box. But the only place I can display it will be on my living room floor. :( For now, I'll just admire the pics posted here until I move to a bigger place.
