Marvel pretty much does the same but their movies are always in crunch time, difficult decisions being made with the clock ticking, AOU didn't come out unscathed.

Yes, I do recall the Thor 2 guy saying that Marvel pretty much let him do whatever he wanted during filming but then in the editing room they took over and made a completely different movie than what he was envisioning. With AoU at least Disney was saying things like "lets lose 10 minutes of farmhouse please," not "lets lose 10 minutes of THOR. He sucks. More Tony Stark. He's cool. We don't care about how it affects the story, just film him doing whatever." :lol

They're instead saying, "Hmmm. Okay three years and the film's pretty much done. Ummm. What can we do here....I don't know, the story pretty much is what it is, maybe just delete like 10 minutes of Superman scenes. Any scenes, it doesn't matter. And, uh, let's just insert some additional scenes of Batman growling and beating people up."

Not encouraging news at all.
You don't think so? Hell, if they decided to make almost every WB DC movie Batman-centric, I think I would be pleased as punch! The atmosphere would actually be appropriate, and he might be pretty damn awesome (I hope he is). We know Supes is tiresome and depressing, so less of him is definitely better IMO. Now, we've seen Batman apparently inserted into Suicide Squad, and taking over more screen time in this film. Let's keep that trend going, WB. How about Wonder Woman being about 60% a Batman movie? And Aquaman can be 85-90% Batman. "Ocean Attack Batman" figures would just fly off the shelves, who doesn't have fond memories of this?

. . .just something to think about, WB. Thanks.

I know you're joking (somewhat) but honestly I just think that Snyder is capable of delivering a kickass Superman and/or Batman movie that IS accurate to the tone and themes of the characters (even Superman) with just a little...help. If you think about it Man of Steel really could have been quite awesome with just a few minutes worth of key scenes altered.

Lose the stupid tornado suicide, Supes throwing Kryptonians into buildings that may still have civilians in them, have him save a few people here and there in the final fight, and don't be a smug ***hole in the interrogation scene and with the satellite at the end. If Snyder had a little more guidance with the writing of those scenes we wouldn't be having this conversation and 90+% of the movie could have remained unchanged.

So I can't help but hope that for BvS Snyder DID get the necessary assistance to make a truly awesome superhero movie but if WB is looking at it and going "hmmm, I don't know if this film will stand on its own, better reduce the role of the main guy and just have more Batman scenes," then that just isn't a good sign.

Well I can't argue that. All Snyder needs is better writers, a cinematographer who understands Superman and is allowed to shoot an appropriate Superman-toned film, more appropriate costume/character/ship/etc. designs, a director who understands drama and human behavior to step in and handle all the dramatic characters interaction stuff, and *BAM* decent Superman movie. Sure, that means Snyder is basically relegated to the fight scenes and editing the trailer, but hey, there's no one I would rather have doing that than my man Snyder.

:lol :lol :lol

Just a little less Snyder = Snyder relegated to Valet guy :lol

You should've seen me trying to explain those black dildos ships to my son when he said they look like mine only darker. :lol

I was like, ask your mother, she knows about those. :lol

You're not being fair, jye. Have you seen him recently? There's also no one I would rather have on set giving the main actors body building tips than Snyder. And you can't really understate the importance of that.
