Come on, you do like this?

Is that the guy that killed some chick, burned her body and stashed her RAV4?

I understand why they wanted to remove the trunks from Superman (Although, I think Superman's costume was perfect because it helped to make him non-threatening), but I don't know why they didn't want to stick with the orange and green armor/ short hair look for Aquaman. He looks awesome, and I think his powers are actually terrifying! I understand why they are some-what apologetic because they don't want to turn people away. I just wrote a post about not really liking the flamboyant costumes, but I've gone a complete 180! I love them now! I think they provide for amazing creativity and escapism.

I like the new take though.

His stuff is either hit or miss for me, but he sure has some otherwordly ideas. The execution is lacking sometimes, but he's definitely something special.

I agree with that. I feel like he sometime fails at trying to have his cake and eat it too. I wasn't too fond of him initially because I felt like he was a writer that didn't necessarily respect readers' time—expecting them to be as knowledgeable about comics as he was, but then ret-conning whatever didn't work for him. I wasn't claiming he's one of the best or anything, but he's my favorite.

My favorites are:

1. Grant Morrison

2. Frank Miller

3. Roger Stern

Where are all the OG Aquaman fans coming from. This direction is the only way anyone was gonna accept him. He looks like a badass warrior, that I can actually take seriously now.

I've just got round to reading Batmans death in the family new 52 run. I'm thoroughly enjoying it, it's like a well done movie lik

Well, there's the answer!:lol I really like this new take, but I was just wondering since Zack Snyder always talks about wanting to be true to canon, so I thought he'd like the more classic look. I think it looks cool, but if that's how you feel, then, they made the right choice! I really like all these costumes. I'm just giving my opinion and observation.

My only complaint thus far is I don't like the Batman using a voice modulator, because I think it takes away from an important aspect of the character and it gives less for Ben Affleck to do as an actor. I can't judge it until I see the movie though.

To really understand Morrison's work yeah, you need to do your homework first, but that's part of the fun for me. The meta references, the stories of old, it's quite "fun". As for my faves, I can't really narrow it down, though Waid is one of the writers I can't really stand. He has a big distain of anti-heroes, he's adamant in his views, and he writes a bit too "whimsically" for me. Nothing wrong with that, I just can't find enough "common ground" with him, so speak.

Since i'm never going to get another great Conan the Barbarian movie i'm willing to accept a Conan from the Sea.

...I actually saw Momoa's Conan on the big screen. First of release, sir yes sir!... I sure did... Sigh...

Superfriends and Justice League cartoons. And both have way different versions of Aquaman.

That's about it.

I just really like his Wally West! I don't like his Daredevil, and I find it to be a boring retread of previous plot-points. I also felt very similarly about his Captain America....Come to think of it, I wasn't fond of his Superman either. Tower of Babel isn't very good either. Why did I put on my list? :lol Forget it! Just those three guys.

Ugh, Tower of Babel. The story that gave the Bat-Fans with a raging..um, "desire", the excuse for their "prep time = God Mode" "argument". I say that as a Batman fan, but those folks are the worst of the worst in Battle Forums. Then again, there are still the Storm fans (who somehow believe that Storm can take the Living Tribunal- don't ask me how) and Black Panther fans (I say that as a BP fan as well, but some want to see him beat an Adamantium Covered Ultron while also singlehandely decapitating Namor while having an orgy with the Dora Milaje). Know what? Battle Forums straight up suck...

Aquaman in Flashpoint Paradox was scary as hell and he looked like classic Aquaman. He didn't even have a beard.

They could have easily come up with a look that was equal parts menacing and classic. This look doesn't really fit in with the rest of the superheroes, even in this supposedly more realistic universe. It's like some exec just wanted to grab Game of Throne fans with this design.

I don't understand the battle stuff. Why do they upset you so much? :lol Spongebob Squarepants could beat up Batman, Superman, and Thor if that's what a writer wants. I just want well-written stories. I don't like how modern writers made characters so powerful because it robs the drama. I don't like most modernsuperhero comics because of all the power level stuff. Old Man Logan is a story that embodies everything I don't like about the comics and superpowers. That's a discussion for another time though. It's what put me in a mode where I disliked all superhero related material except for Batman Year One and the Nolan movies. :lol

Well, I frequent a lot of comic boards, so I tend to get involved in debates/ battle threads quite often. As for why it pisses me off, well, for a story to work, you need some amount of realism. You can't have Sentry be beaten by Moon Knight punching him and Spider-Man webbing him up. It's OOC and it destroys the illussion of reality. Since continuity is intact and all these characters reside within a shared universe, then they must adhere to certain rules and limitations.

As for super-hero stuff, I think I'm reachig my limit as well. The stories are the same, change is nothing more than a "hook word" and all comanies care about are gimmicks and stunts. I'll probably be dropping most stuff come next month (apart from a few obvious titles such as Batman, Moon Knight and Black Panther), and will head straight for indies. East of West, Black Science, Ellis' James Bond, Low, those are good stuff. I'm just waiting to see what DC's "REBIRTH" is to manage my pull.

I love the take from Brave and the Bold, but no one at WB would have the balls to do a fun, golden age superhero romp on the big screen. That's why I say, **** them.

90s "The Flash" is still the most enjoyable live action adaptation of a DC superhero for me.
For me it's: 1) the Nolan films; 2) Superman 1 and 2; and. . .then Flash may be third for me, followed by the Burton films, and everything else trailing far behind :horror
