What I liked about
Man of Steel was that it gave Superman some repercussions that he couldn't time travel or kiss away, villains that didn't just stand around and wait for Superman to save people at his own pace, and regular people attempting to fight the threat and not being culturally dependent on Superman. Unfortunately, the execution isn't to my liking, but I appreciated what they were attempting since I loathed Superman as a character growing up on the level that Star Wars fans dislike Jar-Jar-Binks. Even though I don't have as much negativity against the character as I did back then (unless I think about the end of Superman the movie and Superman II), seeing Batman punch Superman on the big screen is a big wish-fulfillment. And now that I just thought of those movies, my animosity for Supes is back. MAKE HIM BLEED, Batman!
Is there such thing as anti-nostalgia? Because I think that's what I have for Supes.
