Ant-Man and Starlord got movies because they were well known? Alright. :lol

People don't know who MM is, which is why I left him out of the quote.

But make no mistake, GL and AM are more known than Antman and Starlord. Even despite their movies.

Depends on what you mean by succeed?
Divergent succeeded. Jurassic World succeeded.

Will I be buying the deluxe, original cut, remastered in 50K editions in 10 years time?
I think not. :lol

Different strokes.. Different folks.

I'll give you 6 word clues :lol

Your missing the point. Antman and Guardians needed their own establishing movies because no one knew who they were. It would have been a mistake to suddenly drop them into an Avengers movie.

DC don't have the time to do that with GL or Aquaman etc.

Da bad buzz didn't work :lol Could be just the fans and the nerds pre-ordering though.

I feel like a lot of people were laughing and joking about trained Raptors and a manufactured dinosaur species and then JW just came out and blew everyone away with its box office. I have a feeling that we might be in the quiet before the BvS storm. Given the global appeal of superheroes I'm giving it a legitimate 50/50 shot at surpassing TFA's global opening weekend.

It will be interesting to see whether the mainstream is vastly divided from the internet goobers on this film, or if they're in sync.

Great arguments were made on both sides of the debate, well done basement dwellers and real people.

But if I was picking a winner it ever so slightly goes to the "Did NOT need previous movies" for BvS to succeed camp!

So then you must agree with me that MoS was unnecessary, which is something I haven't seen the "Did NOT need previous movies" camp acknowledge in their arguments. Or did I miss it?

Well, it was necessary in that BvS is directly influenced by MoS.

But yes, they could've just skipped MoS and start with JL.

It will be interesting to see whether the mainstream is vastly divided from the internet goobers on this film, or if they're in sync.

It won't, even MoS which was very divisive among geeks, the vast majority of the mainstream liked it as much as any phase 1 MCU movie. Hell, it did better than any of them.

That is how I feel about Bats and WW... Sure the film will be good... But it would have meant more to see these actors in their own movie so that the WOW factor could be turned up....

I guess we disagree on this. Maybe when you watch Justice League part 1 you'll get the WOW factor seeing the group together working as a team since by that point hopefully you have seen BVS, suicide squad, and the WW film. Seeing the Lex copr signs and the Bruce Wayne satellite in MOS was cool enough for me to know that they exist in that world, and now we get to see them. That's enough for me. :D

Everyone I know liked Man of Steel when it came out. I only knew it was disliked because I checked the internet.

I don't know. I think if you can’t be excited by the notion that two of the most beloved children’s characters are beating the snot out of each other, then you should just skip out. What else could you want? In my mind, the only thing they could do to improve this movie is to replace Doomsday with Berenstein Bears, Barney the Dinosaur, the Care Bears, and the Teletubbies, and have them team up to beat the snot out of them while playing Pantera in the background. That would have to be the Shawshank’s place on the Imdb ratings board, yes? I can’t fathom anything better.

You guys must have had weird childhoods if this isn’t a wish fulfillment for you. You probably had parents that loved you or something.

I’ve never teared up at a movie before, but I may need a tissue for this one because seeing Batman punch Superman in the face is going to be such an overwhelming experience for me. I hope this incarnation of Superman also likes pink because he’s going to see a lot of it when Batman rips out his heart and shoves it in his face. I’d actually be happy that this Superman had time travel powers because then we could see it over and over again without having to hit the rewind button like we did on the Superman Returns dvd when Lex stabbed Superman. Or at least we can hope that happens in the director’s cut. I can’t be the only one that feels this way, right?

Too far?

I think you missed repeated statements by me and Jaws at least that we are excited, maybe just not as excited as we could have been if things were done differently.

But that's me out. No further comment until I see the film.

Dude. Deadpool. Anything is possible. :lol

:lol :lol

You truly are a mastergifbator!

I wouldn't trade that suicide by tornado for anything!

Oh and Pa Kent telling boy of steel to let kids drown, so inspirational. :lol
