Damn, even the reviewers I like aren't blown away by the movie, like Jeremy Jahns, and that dude always free of critic ********, he tells it how it is.

I just saw this post on 4chung

Major Shakeup For Warner Bros And DC - MOOVIENEWS.com

If this movie is really as bad as people are saying, I would consider not going to see it, but I already bought my ticket so what the hell. Anyway, if it's really as bad, meaning, worse than AoU and all the other crappy MCU movies, then I'm all in for a reboot with George Miller on top, Snyder has been given too many chances and I've supported him enough. I just hope they don't go full MCU because of this, I don't want that **** for DC.

I'll make up my mind tomorrow, see what critics are made of.

Yes please. Should have been his show from the start, look into the history of Justice League: Mortal.

t's clear now that the long-awaited Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice has been met with some pretty harsh reactions from critics, holding close to a 40% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

I recently spoke with a source at Warner Bros who took place in a late-night conference call with execs following the initial flood of negative reviews. The call was moderated by exec Steve Spira and included many of the higher-ups at WB. Here's what my source had to say:

"WB execs are ******** their pants. If [Batman V Superman] makes less than a billion, [Zack] Snyder is out and Justice League will be delayed 8 months."

"Chris Nolan is being courted as a producer and George Miller, David Yates, Louis Letterier, and Vincenzo Natali are all being courted to take over Justice League."

"Wonder Woman is undergoing major rewrites to be more of a standalone film. Aquaman, Cyborg, and Green Lantern Corps. are all on the chopping block."

"Investors are planning a major takeover if [Batman V Superman] flops and have plans to install a board that will order the universe to be rebooted."

:woo:woo :lol:rotfl

This train wreck is epic! Nolan won't be back...and I hope he doesn't. His style doesn't fit the share universe idea.

DC is inherently a little darker and a little more serious than Marvel
If so, then this is a very recent phenomena. Marvel was initially built out of the idea that they would present a more realistic and relateable "universe" than the stuff we saw elsewhere (most notably at DC). And comics like the X-Men and Daredevil were always pretty damn dark, particularly in the '70s and '80s. But you also had serious darkness in major titles, with Tony Stark as an alcoholic, the Jean DeWolff storyline in Spider-Man, Cap being replaced by a psychopathic killer, etc. DC had the JLI as a marquee title in the late '80s! Maybe in recent (say, the last 10) years, DC has been overcompensating for their past behavior? But I would definitely not say that DC is inherently darker. It is inherently lighter if you look at what all this stuff is based on (the bulk of the Golden Age and Silver Age stuff).

This looks like Drew mcwenny all over.
Im sure its again complete BS or just wish full thinking.
The movie isnt even out yet in the us and article like this are trying hard to tank it.
The hate for Snyder and co is real, its reaching filthy levels. Wow.
That being said Miller on JLA would be awesome.

Is this the death of the Snyder-verse?!

Green Lantern, MoS and now this? Geez, can DC make a good movie?

How can they reboot it though? They already have Suicide Squad coming out this year that's part of the Zynderverse.

Why? He adored "Jerkassic Whoreld" which was a pukefest.

:exactly:
With explosive diarrhea . . .

Dude. You have no idea... Wait until you watch Eisenberg Luthor.

:slap
Sorry to hear that but not surprised -- from the first trailer his miscasting stuck out like a sore thumb.
Zuckerberg is a billionaire, but he's also a tool who's as threatening as a wet fart.
Luthor is a prime, top tier villain in the DCU.
To have a neutered Assburger like Eisenberg play him is akin to what Fox did to Dr. Doom in Fant4stick.
Just mind-numbingly dumb and transparent youth pandering.
:ohbfrank:

With so much riding on this film, it's mystifying how WB could have fumbled the ball so badly.
I think they'd muck up a baked potato . . . :cuckoo:

DC is inherently a little darker and a little more serious than Marvel, the current trend is that Marvel (in the comics too) makes fun of itself, in an I'm too cool to take myself seriously way is cheesy and straight up detrimental for some characters, "lmao u wearing a cape dude", they make a joke out of themselves and people eat it up (not even kidding), ask darthkostis, DC still takes itself seriously which is how it should be with superheroes, at least with most of the A-listers.

I respectfully disagree that they are inherently darker. As far as the mainstream comic offerings go over the past 75 years, I think they are on basically the same level. Its only the film universe where it seems to change.

Agreed!

When you think about it, none of the Batman or Superman movies are very good. Like I'm starting to see that now.

The Donner Superman movie has a horrible ending. That Earth rotation thing where he goes back in time is a cop out and as much as I like the movie, it hasn't held up well at all. The only good thing about it is Christopher Reeve as Superman when you get down to the brass taxes. Superman II? It has no idea what it wants to be. It's literally split between two aesthetics and directions. It doesn't know if it's drama or a slapstick show.

Batman 1989 is really style over substance no matter how much I hate to admit it. It's iconic because it's designed really well with an academy award winning art direction, not because it's script is any good. The story in Batman Returns is terrible and whacky. It's weird and isn't a proper sequel in any way shape or form. It's lauded because of how it looks and because the actors are able to transcend what they're working with. The actual script is silly.

Batman Begins turns into a cliched **** show the moment he dons the cowl and cape. Everything preceding that with the origin and training was well done, but they never manage to make Batman as interesting as Bruce Wayne. It also has Rachel Dawes which destroys it's credibility. The Dark Knight is the Heath Ledger Joker show. Joker and his philosophical view point is the best part of the movie. Batman begins his descent into being a blithering ***** and "Two-Face" isn't done justice at all. In fact, he's one of the most short winded adaptations of a great character from comic to screen. TDKR sets up all these ideas like a class war and civil unrest and does nothing with them. Batman is barely in it and has a ******, forgettable send off for being the first version of the character to get three movies.

Superman Returns is boring and mediocre. It relied on nostalgia from a dead, bloated, beaten horse (the Christopher Reeve Superman franchise) and the only new thing it introduced was a lame son/baby daddy subplot that went no where. Man of Steel is bloated like TDKR and doesn't make Superman very likable or heroic. The tone is all over the place and it feels grim and nihilistic. Those aren't two things I think about when I think of Superman.

Batman v Superman has a lot to live up to.

Man I hope they don't bring back Nolan. I would love to see what George Miller's Justice League would have been like.

Yeah, if such a meeting took place, I cannot imagine that it would get leaked. Security on that would be tighter than that of a meeting of the President and Joint Chiefs of Staff regarding a major military operation. Because it would totally sabotage the box office for this weekend. Plus, it would be foolhardy to rush to judgment before they saw the box office take for, at least, the first weekend! Sounds like an angry fanboy fantasy.

It would be the studio-wide equivalent of a moronic Josh Trank Twitter post.

Well, in fairness to these guys, the Hackman and Spacey Lexes weren't exactly the fear-inducing monster we see in the comics and animated series', even if the casting was very well done in both cases.

That WB shake up article is pure BS- Period

Along the same lines , my sources say that a board meeting at WB this morning signed Snyder for five more films and pushed JL up six months earlier!:lol

Ultimately, it's going to live or die on its own merits. If it has bad word of mouth among actual moviegoers, and if people don't want to go back to see it multiple times, it may be a disappointment. But if the opposite holds true, could be a huge smash. Either way, it deserves what it gets!
