So is it safe to say that you're a fan of the ******* BATMAN ? :monkey3

I've always loved a ruthless Batman. That was the original intention for Bats until Whitney Ellsworth (editor back then) got perturbed over the brutal killing of some giants and then basically said "Batman will never wield a gun or kill again!". Lol. Ultimately, writers later wrote in the idea that he doesn't kill or use guns because his parents were brutally murdered, and that stuck as a core component for the most part. A flip of the coin could have easily landed it the other way as well, where the murder of his parents could have easily justified why he became ruthless and would torture and kill criminals, however good ol' Ellsworth prevented that from ever happening. Marvel's the Punisher basically carried through with what DC wasn't willing to do at the time. Again, another guy whose family also was brutally murdered. Many harp on the fact that Batman doesn't kill, however some (not all), never really stop to think how that came about or could have easily changed. I will always love a ruthless and tormented Bats. Great post there! :duff

How old are your kids by the way? I remember seeing a 6(ish) year old dressed up as Superman in my screening and thinking that this movie might not be for them...

That is a great post!

I took my 5 year old last weekend. He got a little squirmy for the first half, but overall he said it was 'really cool' - same reaction for ASM 2 and TFA (although I'll never forget his giggles at the first 10 mins of Spidey action). He loved the Batwing scene and let out an audible 'whoa' or two between the duel and the warehouse scene. We had to stop on the way home to get the Batmobile Lego set. At that age he just wants to see the action scenes though.

The only newish movie he's seen (live action) that's held his attention all the way through was Jurassic World. S

Well, at least my son now knows what needs to be done if me and his mom are murdered.

Thank You Snyder! :hi5:

I told him last night too....don't take any **** from the Mutant gang!

Anyone else see this article on Forbes? Those who like the movie will enjoy it (and agree). Those who don't... probably won't.

Zack Snyder Loves Superman, And 'Batman V Superman' Proves It

Excellent aricle! :clap

I'm really surprised at the amount of seemingly smart people that just aren't "getting" huge aspects of this movie. Like Peter David. He goes off about how Superman is this detached "god" that we can't relate to or like. That when he sat in the Capital building it was "as a god annoyed with the stupidity of mortals." I think it's pretty shocking how out of touch he is with what was being presented on screen. Are certain folks like him (not individuals here, I literally am talking about these high profile figures weighing in on the movie) just turning off their brains and connecting dots at random?

He isn't a god at all, in fact I'd probably argue that he's the *least* godlike of all live-action Supermen. Because just being indestructible doesn't make you divine. Hell we might as well call Wolverine or Captain Man from Henry Danger "gods" then. To me a god figure needs to have an unshakable moral code, a sense of purpose and idealism far above mortal men that coincides with his "powers." Cavill Supes doesn't have that. In fact I'd even argue that Evans Cap is a more apt "Christ figure" (especially in The First Avenger) than Cavill.

Cavill is a guy just trying to do what's right with a set of plays that no one can run but him and he's trying to practice it all under intense trial-by-fire circumstances and fierce scrutiny. When he sat in the burning Capital all I saw was a good guy going "****, I am so freaking in over my head here, I'm dealing with evil that I haven't even acknowledged exists yet..." and that really rattled him. Would Steve Rogers have sat there? Of course not, because he's got his Messiah **** together. But Supes isn't there yet. He needs help and experience and a little bit of faith and I think we can all relate to that on some level.

I honestly predict that this film will rise from its own ashes and be appreciated more and more as time goes on.

That's cool. I was 6 years old when I saw Jurassic Park in the cinema and I try and think back to it, I can remember the day vividly but it must have been afew years later until I started to understand the story properly, the non dinosaur scenes anyway. The Rex breakout scene/Raptor kitchen scene is all I can remember from the movie from that day though. So I imagine your son will still remember seeing the Batman/Superman/WW scenes in years to come and then start to appreciate the movie better. :)

Nope, that's accurate.
Millers Batman has a potty mouth.

Oh man. :slap I shouldn't hear Batman speak and be reminded of Steve Martin going off about his rental car at the counter in Planes, Trains, and Automobiles.

"How can I help you?"

"You can start by wiping that ****ing smile off your ROSY ****ing cheeks."

please tell me that's manipulated dialogue and not really what he said. lol
