this would be funny if it wasn't so true...

You know I did read a fair amount of Batman in the 90's. Not only Knightfall (which was a ton of issues) and Spawn/Batman and Captain America/Batman but also Batman vs. Predator and Batman vs. Dracula as well.

I actually really enjoyed the latter two, cheesy as those mashups may have been. :lol

I have them all, including the alternate covers. Even have the standard (non painted) '89 comic signed by Denny O' Neil and Jerry Ordway which is cool.

The art work for Batman and Robin and Batman Begins aren't very good. You can tell they started to not care anymore before they did away with them.

Those covers for Batman in the 90s were always creepy, especially the Knightfall ones. I always loved this one,

*Ok, I can finally post this*

- Are you alright, Master Bruce?
- Alfred... I had a nightmare... And YOU was in it.

Not sure how many people here watch Funhaus, but today's podcast was on point IMO. Topics include concepts that were apparent yet not fully executed, the idea of the delayed payoff/culmination, and comic book/comic convention culture influencing filmmaking and continuity.
That last one is particularly interesting and extremely prevalent these days. You can observe at least two schools of thought regarding this movie, one of which comes from more of a film perspective and one from a comic book perspective. And even some hardcore comic book readers still want their films to feel different from the books, so the justification of "if you read the comics, this would make sense" doesn't fly with them. Food for thought on the most common BvS defense/critique.

I posted this in the Statue section but thought it was cool enough to see all PF's together to share here:
