The Knightfall comic series was an interesting way to have Batman face all his prior villains (Bane frees them all from Arkham) which actually might really fit with this new universe if most of his villains are currently locked up. Unfortunately TDKR pretty much precludes this from happening anytime soon.

I honestly have no idea how long it would have taken me to figure that out had someone not spelled it out.

Actually reading the 30-year-old source material might've helped.

How was I supposed to know!

See above.

But as noted, I don't think WB cares. Execs are milking this genre and just pumping out these movies for the sake of pumping them out. They get a big opening weekend because of the buzz, and probably sell a lot of merch, but people will get tired of paying to see crap. It won't be long until this strategy isn't profitable at all anymore.

Pretty much, yes.

And don't forget all the product placement . . . I actually saw the TV ad for Turkish freakin' Air with Jesse Assburgers-as-Lex. :ohbfrank:
Several sections of the film were extended car commercials for Jeep.
Jolly Ranchers, Gucci, Underarmor, etc.
A lot of the extraneous WTF scenes weren't plot but promotion.

We'll see how big this weekend drop is . . . perhaps folks will go back to count all the product placement (and "R" insignias) they missed the first time? :dunno

I really enjoyed BvS. Great performances, stellar cinematography by Fong, the serious tone and the JLA/INJUSTICE setup.

Sure the editing was rough (Snyder's cut was altered) and most of the soundtrack was underwhelming but overall a pretty damn good movie.

I wipe my *** with critics reviews. Let those fools continue to worship generic superhero crap like IRON MAN 3 & ANT-MAN. Let them laugh all throughout their CBMs like morons.

Can't wait for JLA, Snyder or not.

Right on brother. I loved it too.

Not possible. Bat-villains in the Snyderverse end up here:

I can't fault this one too much for this. I was watching Superman 2 the other day, and man. Superman gets tossed into a Marlboro truck, and Coca Cola sign, etc. :lol

Thank you. Is BvS worse than leprosy? Clearly. But is it boring? No.

Worse than leprosy? Nah. But it sure as hell is worse than "The Room"... What? The critics don't lie mon....

I don't think there's going to be a "Joker Sr." I think this is just a new approach to the character where Todd went bat**** and during a fight with Bruce got dipped in the acid.

I can see the solo movie being about Batman & Robin's pursuit of a serial killer who brutally kills criminals. Then Bruce learns Jason's the guy he'd been looking for all along.

So you're saying that Todd is the Joker? As in, there never was a previous guy who tortured him, but Todd just went ballistic and essentially is this universe's Joker? Eh, I don't like that very much, truth be told (correct me if I'm wrong and you didn't mean that though, sometimes things get lost in the internet). I'd much rather the whole Arkham/Timverse approach if you're gonna go down that route.

So we shift to Red Hood now? Man, Todd's gonna have lots of identities... If they go with Tod-is-the-Joker, then there's no way they can adapt Red Hood then. Unless, they take this route: OG Joker tortures Todd -> Todd becomes Joker -> Todd does the same thing to Drake -> Drake becomes the Red Hood -> Damian is introduced later and becomes the new Robin. I certainly wouldn't mind the idea truth be told, but it'd deviate a lot from the source.

that predator alien batman book was actually kind of cool
they didn't really over stuff it or did anything too crazy. even though the premise was campy and over the top the actual story was not that crazy. It made pretty good sense, I remember picking it up as a joke just to see what they did,
but I remember enjoying it for what it was and being surprised it wasn't completely ridiculous

Yeah, I don't think they'll go for a straightforward approach to Red Hood.

My guess is they'll play it like Se7en. Where instead of a "John Doe" killing people in Gotham, there's a "Red Hood" doing that. Then you learn when Jason's not in his Robin duds, he's wearing the red hood.

In summary, you merge Red Hood with Robin.

Its ****ing tragic and would perfectly explain why Snyder told Affleck that by the start of BvS, Batman has been morally bankrupt for a decade.
