You sound like a difficult person to please my friend.

You sound like a person with high standards.
Well I was a huge comic nerd as a kid, and knew what good stories we could get from them (something the Batman Animated Series further proved). I was even lukewarm toward the Burton Batman movies as a little kid because that was so different from the comic Batman, barely being able to move and fighting the sword guy with his gauntlets, etc.

That summer, I remember enjoying Last Action Hero more than JP :lol

I never thought I'd see an X Men film, so I was satisfied with the first film. Even the yellow spandex Wolverine joke made sense at the time. In retrospect, seeing how far superhero films have come with the shared universe and colorful costumes, I think we could be getting better X Men films, or at least more interesting X Men films, but X Men was a product of its time, and it was pretty faithful to the source material, despite the black leather costumes.

It had its moments, and did do the comics justice in many ways. I was also pretty hyped about seeing them on the screen in the first place. Overall, in the case of that film and Spider-Man, I think both simply suffer from basic storytelling deficiencies. I did enjoy both, I just felt a bit less satisfied than I could have been. With the sequels for both, I felt the franchise were redeemed. And then the third ones were released. . .

IMHO, we were on our way to getting much better X-MEN films after FIRST CLASS... before Singer took it back over from Matthew Vaughn. :(

Spiderman 3 is better than batman v superman for a couple of reasons.

And the funny thing is that Spiderman 3 did basically the same as bvs In box office but cost less.

So technically Spiderman 3 is a bigger success.

LOL. Superman doesn't kill the terrorist in BvS. Hopefully that will be made more clear with the Extended Cut and be clear when folks frame-by-frame it (Supes actually spins around and is the one who goes through the wall first). Though it happens so super-fast I'm not even sure how many frames it is. :lol

That guy probably ended up never being able to walk again lol. Not sure that's better.

I feel like there's nothing that could have been done to save Spider-Man 3 whereas BvS is at least salvageable IMO.

I still like the Sandman creation scene, actually. Maybe it's the score there, but that always stood out as the highlight of the movie for me. It's sad and poignant and well done.
