It's also a comedy. A ****ing hilarious one. Which helped a lot.

I think it was just a hip movie with perfect timing, and the deadpool fanbase has been huge lately even before the movie. I'd hardly call it ultra violent though.... a pretty short distance from pg 13

But he wouldn't be regarded as responsible by the people of Earth. They didn't know how Zod came to be on Earth. In Superman I Lex Luthor's machinations were not Superman's fault and it sure was handy that he was there to stop them. In Superman II Zod by amazing coincidence happened to be freed by Superman who then gave up his powers not knowing what he had unwittingly unleashed. Zod didn't even know how he'd been freed nor did he even know Kal El was on Earth - it was news to him when the president mentioned a ''Superman''. So once again, as far as the people of Earth knew, this was a threat that happened to come along regardless of Superman and which only Superman could stop.

I agree. Zod in MOS really did a number on Sup's image by announcing to the world why they were there, and he did it in every language possible to make sure the whole world knew about Clark. :horror

Gross.

The truth is, Marvel/Disney would do a great job with Superman....look at Capt America. They know how to balance the drama and humor and somehow give an edge to CA while still keeping him likable and a boy scout.

In the movie Justice League War, Flash gives Stone the mother box to analyze. The mother boxes were planted all across the planet by parademons. I don't know if that's how it was done in the comics because I never read New52 JL.

I know. I saw JL War but that doesn't apply to B vs S. In B vs S, Mother Box some how comes into the possession of Silas Stone but we don't know how. I know everyone thinks Luthor is the reason for the coming of Darkseid but it just may be that Darkseid or one (or more) of his crew were already here well before Luthor's antics. That would make Darkseid fully aware of us already. That could mean that Darkseid has been keeping tabs on earth for quite awhile.

Man, post BvS the MCU has gone from being mocked for using too much comedy and soft character outcomes to now being hailed the king of everything superhero that can't do no wrong!

How quickly we forget the AOU thread. :lol

Then look at Thor... Plus the bad designs and mostly mediocre cinematography. And they are certainly not known for knowing how to balance drama and humor...Nope.

I don't want the MCU/Disney formula anywhere near DC.

It could still be the case that Flash gave the motherbox to Silas.

It still is.

Sure, exceptions exist but they are not the rule.

That could change now with the Russos, but I keep reading CW still has some residual Whedonisms.

Thor could look better, but look at DC's Green Lantern...worst costume ever, and that's not including some of the previous Batman costumes or the horrible Superman Returns suit. Capt's costumes have been pretty good in his solo films and so were the look and designs of those films.

CA:TFA and TWS >>>>>>>>> BVS.

It was clear to me that Luthor is under the influence of Darkseid. It could have been Steppenwolf controlling him since he is in a deleted scene from BvS. My guess is swolf is like Silver Surfer in this universe and priming earth for invasion, instead of a snack.

That could be the case, but I keep thinking it was Yuga Khan being trapped in the source after messing around with Mother Boxes, what Lex was seeing, like the recreation of Krypton's history in MoS.

I like the idea that he went mad after seeing New Gods ****, like Lovecraftian Gods make people go mad.

I looked at as Renfield from Dracula, but I think we're on the same page.
