Finally saw this last night. I thought it was great. Quick question though. When Perry White opened up the newspaper that showed Superman was dead. What did the adjoining article say about Clark Kent? Did it say that Kent was Superman?

Ok didn't catch your sarcasm at first. Can someone give me a serious response please?

It just said that Clark Kent died covering the Doomsday incident, but it didn't reveal anything about him being Supes.

I saw it for the 3rd time yesterday and while I clearly see some of its faults, overall I think it's fantastic. I wish I kept up in the last 300 pages to understand why the more avid DC fans are disappointed, but I have to at least start skimming through because I want to understand the hate

Thank you very much for the serious response. I agree totally with your assessment of the movie as well. I myself like the angrier and more violent super heroes. I think that is probably what true DC fans have a problem with.

I wonder if they did this so they wouldnt have to worry about any Clark Kent plot in the following movies.

Because when I think of Superman, I think anger and violent. lol (I'm not an avid DC fan)

SO what exactly in my post are you disagreeing with?

Not disagreeing with you on anything really. It's just you said "I myself like the angrier and more violent super heroes. I think that is probably what true DC fans have a problem with". Seemed like your saying that DC fans (or maybe even people that dont like the movie) dont like violent superheroes. This isnt true at all.

No I'm saying that fans of Superman and Batman, as they are portrayed by DC comics probably don't like the movie because they portray Superman and Batman in a more violent way than what the comics do.

I think that is a correct assessment, for myself, in regards to Superman anyway. Batman should be violent, but not a violent, unrepentant killer IMO.
:lol I will happily admit that my knowledge of '90s comics is sub-par. I'm not sure I read anything that character was in apart from that one story line.

yeah some people are acting like they paid 15 bucks and were forced to stare at a wall for 2 1/2 hours :cuckoo: I can't really see how it wasn't at lest entertaining to most people.

All I know is if you don't know of a particular character they must be of the truly super ultra obscure variety. :lol

Superman now gives me thoughts of Blairwitch, Wizard of Oz, Sept 11th and Depression. :lol

That I can understand. It caught me off guard seeing Batman killing people but I wasnt upset by it. I was confused though. lol

Violentman should be a new DC hero that is a satire of Superman in these movies.

She's about as much of a generic, forgettable '90s character as you could imagine. :lol

So I finally went to watch this. I wasn't looking forward to it since I didn't like Man of Steel and don't care for Zack Snyder...however I actually really enjoyed it. It did a much better job setting up the characters and the story as opposed to MoS in my opinion.
