Nah, he's right with Matrix.

Influental and moe importantly it spanked TPM. :lol

It was the cool movie to love.

Ugh, that's one movie we'll have to disagree on. Also, it's influential style of filmmaking is what I hate most about modern cinema. Nothing gets tired faster than super slo-mos and 360 degree freeze scenes, it was overused in Matrix and has been played to death today. I groan every time I see those gimmicks used.

Funny thing was, I was excited for The Matrix, went on opening day.

I think the 2000's are pretty great and better than the 90's , 80's , 70's in general. More big films every year, more animated films, and some really good dramas/non special effects films. The 70's and 90's gave us some technological advances, which makes those decades more innovative than the 2000's though. I think there is more of a balance in the 2000's as far as the type of films that get made. 70's gave us some good dramas, but animation was weak and so were the special effect films. Other than SW and Alien, the 70's were mostly non special effects films. The 80s gave us more action films, cheap but iconic horror films, and more special effects films than the 70's, but animation and drama was weak in that decade.

The early 90's gave us a little bit of everything though...and that something we see in the 2000's and 2010's, imo. The only negative thing about 2000's are the reboots, remakes, and sequels of 80's properties. Still, 20 years from now we'll probably see remakes and reboots of 2000's franchises like Pirates of the Caribbean, Harry Potter, Inception, The Bourne films..etc.There are a lot of bad films in the 2000's, but the same can be said about the 70's,80's and 90's.

Matrix reloaded is one of the greatest action movies ever made.
Not talking about the plot or even the acting.
But it does have the best action.

How'd I forget Bourne!

I think clearly though, the 70's thru 80's had the best horror movies. There is no debating that.

The only good thing about the matrix sequels was every time they went into the matrix IMHO

Which is why the third one sucks so much.
The directors for some hellish reason had the bizarre idea that audiences cared more about the real world

I don't think they understood why people loved the matrix.

It's not that we didn't care about the "real world," I think it's the way it was presented. Neo finding the Machine god or whatever was the icing on the s**t flavored cake.:lol

I never gave a crap about Zion.

In the first movie u are on the ship, so its good, u are introduced to the movie universe.

But even as a big fan of matrix reloaded I never cared for Zion and I couldn't wait for them to get back to the matrix.

As much as I love LOTR trilogy, these superhero movies (which only half are good), some war movies and the return of Star Wars (I think) I would have to say that the past 20 years (1996-2016) simply can't touch the staying power of 1975-1995!

1975-1995 just can't be touched when it comes to movies and music.

Oh well, at least the collectibles have improved. :lol
I must respectfully disagree with your decision not to scoot this back to 1970. Doing that would include some of the greatest, most influential movies of all time-Godfather, Godfather 2, Chinatown, Enter the Dragon, the Exorcist, the French Connection, Clockwork Orange, the Sting, Dirty Harry, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, the Conversation, Five Easy Pieces, Deliverance, Straw Dogs, the Last Detail, Serpico. . .even Pink Flamingos!

No offense to the early 1990s, but. . .no real competition there. Having said that, True Lies, FTW.

man the matrix....... That takes me back. Every movie would parody it. It was def a game changer but those sequels. That party at the beginning of matrix reloaded was so weird.

It represented humanity. machines would never understand the dance, understand what it means to be human.
Are u a machine?

You don't have to be a machine to wonder why they inserted a rave scene that was supposed to be filled with the last free humans on an apocalyptic earth and everyone looked like they belonged in a Lenny Kravitz music video.

I want Millenials gone.

You know what trailers need more than release dates for trailers?

The guy(RIP) who voiced the trailers in the last two decades of the last century.

Imagine superheroes movie trailers with someone that sounded like him.
