:lol "You won't believe their mother's share a first name." I know whoever made that connection probably thought they were the smartest kid in the room the day they pitched it for the film--except the moms have only shared the same first name for almost 80 years in the comics.

Ooooooooooo u mad? Lol jk

:lol

I wish I enjoyed the movie enough to be mad.

It's funny because it's true :lol

Mission Accomplished

Yeah...but isn't that the target audience?

Good point.

I have to believe it was Goyer. They made the point of showing a dying Thomas Wayne saying "Martha" with his last breath so the audience would have an emotional connection when the name is uttered by Clark later. That's Goyer's MO. He did it to death in Batman Begins.

been hearing real good things about the extended cut, stoked to finally buy it and give it a go

Love the extended version. Fills in the story, character motivations, and makes it more emotional. This version simply should have been put in theaters. Screw runtime whiners!

Wish they had included one short scene of robins death to kind of explain batmans aggression. Just a scene of robins costume does not mean anything to the casual viewers. Lex's plot comes out quite well in the extended cut.

I always enjoy some mystery to leave you wanting more. Hard to imagine they don't address it in the next Batman movie.

You mean the first Batman movie in this series? :lol

I feel like the next Batman movie could either be a prequel to DoJ or a sequel and I'd be happy either way. So much history left unanswered and so much to go onward with. I'm hoping SS fills in some backstory with HQ, Joker, and Batman at least. Maybe the Robin scene will show up there even?

Nope. All you see is a rap sheet for Harley Quinn that says she's an accomplice and wanted for the murder of Robin.

Batman is barely in it. Maybe 30 seconds between the chase, flashback with Deadshot, and Deadshot's Batman dream.

Hey guys, haven't been in the thread for months, (didn't liked the movie, spat on the poster leaving the theater). For those who have seen it, is the extended cut any better?

That kind of depends on what you didn't like about it. If you thought it was poorly edited and incoherent, then I'd say you'd probably like this one better. If you hated the tone, with a doubtful Superman and a Batman who lost his way, I'm not sure. I would recommend giving it a chance, though, as it's a far superior cut of the film and may leave you pleasantly surprised.

The pacing is definitely better and the story is way more coherent. Some of my issues with the original release was that the movie seemed to jump from scene to scene and there were no clear motivations to some of the characters and their actions, like why Superman was so against the Batman, for example.

The Ultimate edition definitely fleshes out a lot of that, as well as Lex's motivations.

I found the film to be quite draining, overwhelming and more drab, but it's not bad. I think it's successful for the tone it went for. I just don't think I'd watch the whole thing over again.

I heard that Superman is better and more sympathetic in the UC. Plus they explain things like why Sups didn't see the bomb in the wheelchair and they show him looking for injured people and saving victims before he leaves, unlike the theatrical release which shows him standing doing nothing and then leaving the crime scene.

Also, Bruce Wayne wasn't completely clueless about certain things, and Lois Lane's subplot is more coherent too. If all thaf is true, then mabe Snyder made a decent film, but the studio wanting a shorter film really hurt the final product.

Well, I gave in to temptation and bought the extended digital, I couldn't wait until 7/19.

I liked the theatrical BUT I now love the extended!

Those extra bits, 30 minutes worth (that's actually quite alot when it comes to cinema) really gave the movie some much needed breathing room.

The extra action bits are always welcomed but so was everything else they added

Sure one could argue what was the point of Luthor's public relations mystery scheme against Superman when we the audience were already aware going in that Luthor is the villain behind it all.

I get people thinking that this plot element is a waste of time in both its truncated theatrical form and in its expanded form.

No matter how well his scheme is now fleshed out and explained, it can still be considered a waste of time.

But that doesn't bother me one bit, I love this....well....dumb dopey movie! :lol

Oh, they addressed one of the major complaints by now showing

Superman saving one person after the Congress blast so one can assume he had a hand in saving many others that were seen nearby with EMS in the triage area

For me it was much easier sitting thru 3 hours of BvS than it is the 2 hours and 25 minutes of MOS.
