I saw the extended and I think all the talk about JL being more fun and light from everyone associated with the film is good.

It doesn't need to be Chuck E Cheese like some Marvel movies, but I don't want to feel like i'm at a funeral either. :lol

I think all the added stuff from the extended made a dark film darker. It's going to be weird seeing this version of Batman and Superman be more fun and change tunes moving forward but I think that's what needs to happen for the future films to be successful. I am expecting Flash and Cyborg to add in some more fun, Aquaman I'm not so sure about.

I am really looking forward to Wonder Womans solo film and her role in the JL. I think her solo film is going to surprise a lot of people by how good it is.

Quote from Superman: REBIRTH #1 where Superman is talking about his fight with Doomsday in the 'Death of Superman

saw this and thought it was worth reposting ,not sure how the rest of the rebirth thing pans out but folks seem to like it and think its a improvement on what we had before ,so maybe jla will do the same for the film universe

I saw it and it didn't change my mind. I've seen people say it's better paced - disagree. The new stuff slowed the film to a crawl IMO and it just piled on the ''god'' crap to a point of being way overbearing. I wondered could I be swayed but apparently not. I quite simply don't like the film and DC's whole approach to Superman and the shared universe. Oh well.

After seeing the 10+ minute extended preview and warehouse scene of the Ultimate Edition I have a bad feeling I'll feel the same way as you do. Plus, some people are selling their praise for the UE so hard that it's made me even more skeptical.

It doesn't change the tone or general qualities at all. It does add some clarity to points and makes some bits flow better. I call it an improvement, but if you really disliked the theatrical it's still the better version of something you don't like.

Yes. I ripped it last week, screw retail. I don't feel anything new for the new cut either. I still think Affleck is the best Bruce/Batman yet.

Just bought the UE on Amazon video. Things make a lot more sense in this version. Things explained that I had no idea about. I understand why they cut some of it because it is pretty long but it is worth seeing.

Warned the UE here. Thankfully it did fix alot of my issues with the movie. There's actual context!

For example the 3 seconds that shows that in the Africa scene *spoiler* they burned the bodies to look like Supes did it. Why the heck cut that out?

Batman still murders indiscriminately, and superman doesn't have a chance to be super. But at least Clark investigating was a big part

For me seeing the trinity together for the first time along with an incredible Batman allows me to be quite forgiving of all its faults.

I remember being in a theater watching TDK and thinking to myself....as great as this is I can't wait for the big 3 to get together on the big screen.

So here we are, it would've had to been a complete disaster for me to not like it.

I don't really give a **** about seeing them together. I'm just glad we have a Batman universe where supernatural characters can exist.

I just think I've been spoiled by the animated DC movies and Justice League Unlimited. They've given me everything I could hope for except being live action.

I kind of got over the thrill of live-action when the Nolan movies hit. While I appreciate them, they're not "my" Batman. I find the organized-crime fighting Batman the least interesting aspect of the character. Ever since then I've just learned to appreciate the good comic runs, animated series, Arkham games, etc. even more than I did. I'm always hopeful for any new movie and I find things to appreciate in each but I'm not holding my breath to be blown away.

Same here, Bats and Supes will always be my favourite superheroes and I liked Snyder's treatment of them. This puts it even above CW for me.

One thing bugs me though, above all the other perceived missteps: Why did Luthor care so much about getting the import license if he was a maniac who would just do it illegally anyway?

Luthor does things in the dark but also need the light for his ego.
At first he think he can get the whole senate in his pocket and work hand in hand with them.
He gets zod trough them but then when Sénator Finch makes it clear that she Will not play along he goes full dark to finish his plans.

I think that's the beauty of it. Luthor's hubris almost destroys the world. Had he succeeded in getting Batman to kill Superman, he would've, potentially, doomed the entire planet because he wanted to play God.

True, thanks for the explanation guys.

Other minor irritants: Why didn't Supes notice/care why Bats was chasing the truck? And why did Bats need a tracker to know it was going to LexCorp?
