Don't like the movie much either. But, will be watching the extended cut just to see if its more coherent than what I saw in the theatre.

T-T-T-TOXIC MASCULINITY!!!

With Snyder you open your third eye by flexing your biceps hard! You become Flex Mentallo!

True, Alfred was one of my favorite parts.

Spot on. Alfred's thick sarcasm was awesome. And was so in line with Michael Gough's Alfred as well. I'd take that any day over corny jokes.

Oh you meant SS? No I don't like it, I liked Boomerang, Waller, maybe Cara Delavigne's belly dancing and voice, but that's about it.

I thought it was bad as a whole.

I don't know how to feel about Ayer, movie looks like studio meddling but he says it isn't, so :huh

Haven't watched the ultimate cut or whatever it's called.

I liked it, but SS is a mess. Ayer is being a super team player. WB must be bankrolling more of his flicks.

Personally, I abhorred Suicide Squad, and a large part of that was because I was an Ayer fan, prior to it. When it was announced that the guy who wrote Training Day and directed Fury and End of Watch was making "the dirty dozen with supervillains," I was ecstatic, and I had it built up in my mind that "there was finally a DC movie that would actually fit with their whole 'dark and gritty' schtick. Then, the casting started coming in. Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Tom Hardy as Rick Flagg, Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, and you know what? Jared Leto as The Joker.

Coming off of Dallas Buyer's Club, the idea of an Oscar winning character actor playing The Joker excited me tremendously...and, little by little, it slipped by the wayside. Tom Hardy is out, Joel Kinnaman is in (I'm not trying to denigrate Kinnaman in any way, just that I thought Hardy was going to be good in the role), the first picture of the Joker, the first trailer, the second trailer, the soundtrack, the reviews, and, last, but certainly not least, the movie, itself. What was once my most anticipated movie turned into the one I couldn't give a **** about.

I forgot about Alfred which is weird because he stood out as the voice of reason for Bruce. Jeremy Irons played him well and would love to see
more of him in the solo Batman movie.

Oh make no mistake.

I do love Snyder, the savior of capekino, the destroyer of flavor of the week.

You finally saw SS? I need a mini review man :lol

I didn't finish it in one sitting :lol that's why I didn't review it, doesn't feel fair.

Probably when I watch the new cut.

I liked the photography, minus all the neon, I didn't mind the plot, I remember it was a major issue in the thread, like "lol you get Harley to beat a god? Lmao" but I think that was actually ok, they nailed Waller, Boomerang and Deadshot wasn't bad, if a little too Will Smitty.

I dunno, the movie itself felt like Ayer had indeed something different, more genuine in mind and was buried under all the neon, it feels like it is one edited version away for me to like it.

Did not like the Joker at all. Loved Boomerang, can't wait to see him with the rogues.

Hey we agree on something! :yess:

oh. :monkey4

:lol
:lol yeah, sorry, if it's any consolation I think it's as good as any mid-tier MCU movie AND I didn't finish it in one sitting, I do think it was trashed unfairly and it feels at least a like 80% by RT standards.

isn't it weird how there is like literally no Doctor Strange discussion on the forum anymore while BvS is still being talked about everyday.

really makes you think

by internet standards that's a pretty big compliment for SS. :lol agreed that it was bashed relentlessly while being on the same tier as other CB movies.

A Batman/Superman film does feel a lot more important than a Doctor Strange film, even if it is a crushing disappointment.

another snyder CB cult classic?

it's because regardless of plot issues, the movie's tend to be not as straightforward and in result, not as forgettable as other CB flicks (SS excluded as it clearly follows a basic formula). in result, were not spoon fed everything like in the MCU Snyder's 2 DCEU flicks have a lot more substance than i think a GA realizes. hell even SS has more to chew on than the Thor's, AoU, Ant-Man etc.

what i don't get, is that people don't buy Harley Quinn going up against Enchanteess. but they'll just let it slide that there happened to be a camera, exactly where the starks crashed, that was full color and audio (even widescreen). and that Zemo just happened to have a copy, AND expected Tony to show up, when there is no way he could have known that. :lol
