Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

Cause people don't lose their **** when they know about Aliens.

Also, Lois totally didn't want to be saved and explicitly said so.

A little girl like 200 years from now, whose entire family was killed by Aliens.... Still loses her **** when she sees one.

It seems 200 years from now Perry White is still right.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on why the tornado scene worked. I'm up for any excuse to enjoy the film more.

A father sacrificed himself to protect his son. :dunno

The main problem with that scene is the people taking shelter under the overpass. That is one of the worst spots to be in a tornado.

Protect a son who needs no protection.

Oops, I guess I left my wife a (black) widow for nothing.

Well...she did witness those particular aliens killing everyone in the colony. Also they look scary as $h!t. Superman just looks like another human. I hardly think a normal, albeit muscled dude doing good things with super-powers would cause mass hysteria and suicides etc etc.

Yeah, I don't buy any ''people aren't ready'' crap either. Not in this particular fictional alien's case.

Really it's more like Jonathan should be saying ''I'm not ready to share you with the world, so don't reveal your powers''

Well the audience knows he is indestructible. But Pa prolly doesn't know his limits. And if someone like that really existed you know for damn sure the government would be all over him

I guess for some, the tornado scene is their 'taking the batwing down with one shot from a revolver' :dunno

I like the tornado scene and roll the eyes out of my skull at the batwing scene.

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

I can buy a well placed shot igniting a fuel line taking down a flying device.

I can't buy his suicide. :(

I think he really killed himself because his wife and Kal were going to find out that he had been attending the pool parties at Singers house with Roland Emmerich, Isn Mckellen and Joel Schumacher.

The sole idea of being visited by aliens could cause mass hysteria, religious panic, various other kinds of hysteria, and it has in the past, not only in movies, in real life.

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

STM lesson: No matter what, he can't save any human, none, no matter his powers.

MOS lesson: The reason given by Pa Kent for his suicide was crazy stupid, even Perry was saying the same stupid crap, humanity not ready. Oh bull crap. Human are 100% ready for a Superman.

If they were going to go with Pa Kent killing himself then they should've tied that to the main plot of the movie.

I would've went with the reason that no matter his powers, Jor-el lectures him that he should not interrupt the free will of humans unlike Krypton where there was no free will allowed.

So Pa Kent suicide was his free will choice to make and Superman should not stop it, no matter the pain of loss.

Free Will-y

Ah **** it, the movie just plain sucks.

I'm just gonna express my laughter at how well your response and your avatar combine. (But hey, you probably thought the same for me.)

Back the statement up that the world is 100% ready for a massively superpowered being to rise up and just start doing things of his own accord. If you think that's true you're the most politically naieve person I've met (well, "met") in quite a while.

This exactly the childish world view that ruins most marvel studios movies. The world will go ape**** over a being like superman. Whether it's religions, power struggles, terrorist attacks, hell I wouldn't exclude superman's discovery could lead to a third world war. He's a walking sentient atom bomb as far as any enemies of america would be concerned, which literally claims "you will never control me". You think people with power are going to just say "hm, yeah were ready, go ahead and do your thing". Hell no. People are control freaks, they riot in the streets over a few ****ing taxes and they're just gonna kick back and watch a living god mess around in their country? You have to be kidding me.

And ftr, and I don't particularly like authority arguments, but Jim Lee loved this film. Maybe a simple thing like that will knock you off your quite ineloquent as well as short sighted pov.

A being like superman is the biggest threat to democracy possible, people will b scared ****less of it, no matterr how much of a boy s out he is. Look at Injustice Gods Among Us. If a being like superman has even one moment where he's like 'okay **** this Imma take over' we'll all be enslaved.

Kent in MoS was dead on. It's just somehing that you can't fit into the world view of about a 12 year old.

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

Well actually Kent literally did try to instill this realisition in a twelve year old so all the more props to him.

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

Hey, just because religious nuts would flip the **** out if a Superman really materialized doesn't mean there aren't any intellectually sophisticated people out there who wouldn't. :dunno

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

It's intellectually sophisticated ones you should fear the most, because usually they're ones in power positions and "anyone who has power, fears to lose it".

Superman's very discovery could create mass hysteria, not to mention theres plenty of lunatics who will gladly use him as an excuse for war. You think muslim terrorist feel they have anything to lose when they know america just got a hold a super human, basically the sickest most powerful drone imaginable if he works for them?

Obama doesn't even have a defcon level for this. There's no telling what insane ******** people around the world might retaliate with. If anything man of steel was weak in depicting the world as it really is. (I bet DiFabio's now like now who's the cynical one?:lol)

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

Unfortunately, religious nuts are the majority of the population, around the world.

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

:lol

I never said anything about being a religious person, there's a difference between being a religious nut and just being religious.

But I won't say another word on the matter, or this will become another Noah thread.

Re: Batman vs. Superman (2016)

Oh boy there's a Noah thread?:rotfl

Why are you in this thread DiFabio? i genuinely don't get it. Are you really that bored?
