Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Word is that Adrien Brody want the part of the Joker.... I have to say, it's not too bad of a choice, what other options do you have in mind?

Personally Crispin Glover or Vincent Cassel would be good jokers IMO, Defoe could be good but he is too much of an obvious and uninspired choice for me.
Brody seems more like a Scarecrow to me. But Joker would be awesome too.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Brody is an awesome choice! He’s one of my favorite actors of all time, I know Nolan had him in mind for TDK before he gave the role to Heath.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

I like Brody, but not as the Joker.

I still want the mother of all unrealistic casting choices: Daniel Day Lewis as Mr. Freeze.

I guess I am just an old fogey who can't let go of the past... But I wish this was coming out instead. :)

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

What track record? As far as I'm concerned, the slate was wiped clean with Man of Steel. New film; new creatives; new universe. That's like my saying, "well, The Avengers is going to suck because, while Iron Man was great, Spider-Man 3 and Ghost Rider totally blew. Even then, cynicism is one thing, but, I don't know, man. Batman vs. Superman is like a goat with a broken leg, and the "cynics" as you put it, are more akin to a pack of hungry wolves.:lol I can't help but think that some of it is favoritism at work. There's a part of me that genuinely believes people want this to fail because that would, in some twisted way, prove that Marvel's better.

Since when has this become a competition?.

2008

I still don't get why they want to go with a tired/beaten down batman who may be a little plus sized like TDKRs version if this is not an adaption of TDKR.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Fatasses? What is this? I dont even.....

I guess they'll pull more from the book than I'm expecting by giving Batman a special suit to fight Superman face to face with.

I hope Afflecks not the size I'm thinking he may be based of the released pic...

Gal Gadots enough to deal with

Bulk doesn't not always equal fat

Imo they should do some other villians and leave Joker for abit. They'll be shooting themselves in the foot by having him too soon after the legendary last version of Joker.

It's not edgy nor original in the slightest though, not even brilliant, but it does serve a purpose, it's just practical, it's not bad when you see the domains they had registered for this or only Batman vs Superman, it's certainly not worse than "Dark World".

People are making too big of a fuzz about a subtitle, it's just a subtitle.

He was being sarcastic ;)

Yeah, it is funny how Thor:The Dark World got a pass yet people are beating this film up for what is IMO a much better title. It also sheds some light on the plan as a whole. This is not a direct sequel of MOS. I could honestly see WB/DC taking this as it's own franchise. MOS 2, Batman 1, WW, Flash, BvS, it's another series and it gives fans what they have been wanting since forever(a team up between the big 2).

Also this is a better title than Star Trek: Into Darkness.

Would you prefer Thor: Dawn of the Dark World?

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Comic movies obviously liberally use cheesy and overblown titles and subtitles. But "Dawn of Justice" really takes the cake IMO. Even worse than "The First Avenger," which was totally groan worthy.

Because "The Dark World" sounded cool? And sort of mythic, which was befitting of the Thor franchise? Whereas this is a rather shallow (and transparent) Marketing exercise?

That's my issue with it. Look, it's fine. Like Star Trek Into Darkness, I think everyone will be accustomed to it by the time it comes out. But the subtitle is TOTALLY un-needed except they are straining to tie it into their Justice League movie which they are fast-tracking in order to try to catch up with Avengers. If this had all happened more organically then I think a lot of fans wouldn't be so cynical. I'm definitely glad they aren't calling in MOS2:Whatever. I think Batman V. Superman would have been an awesome title on its own. The subtitle is not needed and just feels cheesy.

I think the cynicism of the title is really just reflecting the skepticism some people feel about the way this has morphed from MoS2, to Batman and Superman and then finally into a Justice League precursor. Now, I'm not saying that it wasn't always planned as this, but it's sure has felt that way on the outside of the production looking in. I'm still hoping that all the Marketing franchise-building machinations are being kept in the title and won't filter into the actual story, which is what I care about the most. If the movie is focused and mostly has the other heroes as brief cameos (maybe with Gadot having a larger part as Diana Prince or something, that's fine) and is more about Superman vs Batman, I think this could still be an interesting, fun movie.

I should probably lighten up in regards to these films, but I think people should take a minute to analyze just what it is they're overanalyzing. You're watching a movie where men in long underwear punch each other, and "Dawn of Justice" is what gets you most fired up?:lol
