Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Awesome poster highlander! The meet up is going to be so awesome! I've already had a Bruce Wayne I love on film with Christian Bale, so I'm more excited to see the Clark Kent identity and see how they flesh out his relationship with Lois. Being that the reboot didn't make Lois his love interest in the comics, it's going to be interesting to see a more modern take on it. They did an excellent job of showcasing the human and alien side of Superman in Man of Steel, and I expect no different from this movie.

Shouldn't metropolis be pretty much non-existent? The Daily Planet was completely obliterated.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

I don't like the title but it's not the subtitle. It's the V.

Really? Batman V Superman? It sounds like some a-hole studio exec in a white tuxedo drinking chardonnay with a pinky extended thought the word "VS" sounded too draconian and ordered them to drop the "s".

Batman VS Superman sounds epic.

Batman v Superman sounds like a legal docket being read before court starts.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

"Batman v Superman" sounds like ****o. At least Snyder is good at it.

I can't tell if you're being serious or not, V. is actually another abbreviation for Versus. The title is Batman Versus Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Case Docket #1000003401782: Batman v. Superman

Presided by the honorable Judge Snyder.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

I'm still just gonna call this BvS now.

I really like the court/justice allusion, really like it. As Snoop said, it's pronounced the exact same way anyway.

Of course I know that, I worked in a law office for 4 years. That's why I mentioned it sounds like a legal docket. The point I'm making is that V instead of VS sounds unnecessarily pretentious. It's a movie about Superheros fighting, not a legal case to be taken dead serious. On a poster, movie ticket, Hot Toys box... Batman V Superman looks dumb. Simple as that. Add to that the only reason for dropping the "s" is to shorten what you're saying/writing but that it still comes with a new 3 word subtitle anyway and it's even dumber.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Don't worry guys, Deckard ranting about a film before it comes out is good luck. It worked for DOFP.

Let him rant away.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

I love how this has become the inverse of the 90s, fans are now actively asking to take superheroes LESS serious.:lol

I don't get it, I really don't. It's just an allusion to a real trial, which ties the first title in with the second one in a neat subtle way. Instead of a cliche dumb video game look.

Now if the film doesn't live up to its title, only THEN does it become pretentious.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

It's a balance some of these guys have found. We want the character motivations taken seriously but to still maintain the aesthetic feel of a comic book. Arkham City/Arkham Origins, Iron Man, Guardians of the Galaxy etc. Even the Batsuit in this looks like a step in that correct direction.
