Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Hmm, if the court case terminology is actually deliberate then I might actually like the title. Go figure. :lol

So it isn't "two guys versus each other" its just Batman who is offended and pissed off by Superman. I can dig that. I might just pretend that Batman himself represents "justice" and the movie is referencing his arrival so it doesn't sound like a lame trailer for another movie.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

They should change MOS's title to "The People of Metropolis V Superman"

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

It's a balance some of these guys have found. We want the character motivations taken seriously but to still maintain the aesthetic feel of a comic book. Arkham City/Arkham Origins, Iron Man, Guardians of the Galaxy etc.

And that's where we differ. I can highly appreciate that, but it's FAR from a DEMAND for me. At all.

I want films I like about characters I like, and often primary source material has solid reasons for how it's given shape, because the artists put thought into it. Doesn't mean it's a requisite for a good superhero film.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Of course I know that, I worked in a law office for 4 years. That's why I mentioned it sounds like a legal docket. The point I'm making is that V instead of VS sounds unnecessarily pretentious. It's a movie about Superheros fighting, not a legal case to be taken dead serious. On a poster, movie ticket, Hot Toys box... Batman V Superman looks dumb. Simple as that. Add to that the only reason for dropping the "s" is to shorten what you're saying/writing but that it still comes with a new 3 word subtitle anyway and it's even dumber.

I don't see how dropping the "s" in vs. makes it sound pretentious. You said Batman VS. Superman sounds epic and that Batman V. Superman sounds like a legal docket, insinuating that you were just pronouncing the letter "V." :lol

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

In MOS one of Wayne Industries buildings were damaged. When the lawsuit fails Bruce suits up to take the case directly to Superman! :lol

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

I love that the "V" is like a legal docket! Nice catch! I love the direction DC has been taking. Please don't go back to the 90's! I have no interest in anything but a serious take on the characters. Unless they want to release an animated feature like Mask of the Phantasm! I love that movie so much.

I love both characters, and don't want to see Batman written as a parody of himself. They're grown men, and supposed to be inspiring heroes.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

The "V." is completely DUMB. It reeks of stupid WB/Time Warner executive decision-making.

It's common in America to use the "VS." abbreviation. You see it everywhere in fight promotions (UFC, Boxing, Pro-wrestling, etc.), other Sports promotions, movies, TV, etc. Unless the script has some ridiculously stupid BRUCE WAYE V. SUPERMAN OVER HIS DAMAGED SATELLITE/BUILDINGS court case, then they should go with the common "vs.". I'm really curious why they went THAT route and hopefully someone in WB or the Film Crew (Looking at you Snyder) comes out and explains it. It looks silly and people all over the interwebs are already making fun of it. Do they think people will hashtag the movie "#BvsS" if they call it "Batman VS. Superman" instead of "#BvS"? Is this a marketing concern? Even ALIEN VS. PREDATOR used the "VS."

"Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice" actually sounds like a sequel to the video game "Injustice: Gods Among Us" :lol :lol

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Do people not like the V now? Maybe they prefer the D.

But seriously people are now *****ing about this? You know what it stands for, move on. It isn't like they just dropped a brand new word *cough Kojima Revengance *cough.

Re: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

All superhero comic lovers need to burn in a fiery pit. The most unreasonable and contradictory fans I have ever seen.

I'm pretty sure superheros were originally created for little kids, by the way. An alien that just happens to look like a human, can fly, has super strength, can't be hurt, shoots lasers out of his eyes, and has x-ray vision? Oh wait, it gets better. His name is "Superman". :rotfl

That is the type of thing 5-year-olds come up with. It is beyond silly and ridiculous. How these "characters" ever became so popular in the first place is beyond me.

Anyway, point is, all of this stuff is based on the goofiest, most childish **** imaginable, and you find issues with the title "Dawn of Justice", or "V" instead of "VS", or Gadot not being buff enough...ffs.

I'm not surprised at all.

You know what it stands for, move on.

Apparently not everyone;

I don't like the title but it's not the subtitle. It's the V.

Really? Batman V Superman? It sounds like some a-hole studio exec in a white tuxedo drinking chardonnay with a pinky extended thought the word "VS" sounded too draconian and ordered them to drop the "s".

Batman VS Superman sounds epic.

Batman v Superman sounds like a legal docket being read before court starts
.
