I am just finishing up season 2.5... managed to read through without being spoiled... (barely)... Can't wait for the new BSG movie to come out and I may have time to get caught up with the rest of you before 2008 and season 4!

I just watched the whole mini series of Battlestar Galactica today and it was the first time I'd seen the show.

My G/F bought the mini series and series one on DVD today, so we sat down and went through the whole 3 hour mini series today and I've gotta say I wasn't that impressed.

There were some cool bits and some dark bits like the Cylon woman breaking the babies neck and the little girl who was left behind on the ship when the Cylons came out of hyper space.

I think I'm gonna enjoy what's to come on this series as I've heard so many positive things about it.

Can't believe it took me this long to check it out.

It's the best show on television hands down--- I hope they do a straight to DVD movie after the final season (next season?).

I wasn't blown over by the mini series either, but the regular episodes are amazing! Watch seasons 1 & 2, then you'll have a good idea on how good the show is. I'd suggest renting them before buying.

I was happy in the season ender in that *SPOILER ALERT TO THOSE WHO HAVE YET TO SEE IT* it didn't end with the obvious Kara emergence from the cylon goo tube... Revealing four of the possible final five and then having Apollo encounter a ghostly Starbuck in the old school fighter with her cryptic message was just another example of why this tv show is the best thing right now for not only sci fi fans but for anyone who likes character driven, thought-provoking storylines.

I usually avoid spoiler threads like the plague, but now that I just watched the season finale, I felt I needed to chime in.

*ahem*

2008?!? WTF?!!!!

:monkey2

They have allready said (officially) that they will release a 2 hour movie before season 4. I'll try to find where I read that.

ok, we just saw the last episode tonight... and WOW!!! how frackin' amazing was THAT???? right.... a couple of questions.....

1) ...... the people who heard the music all went to that room and realised they were Cylons... almost as if they'd been activated. but didn't Laura Roslin also hear the music during the episode?? We couldn't figure out why she didn't joint them in the room.....

2) we were expecting Roslin to go there, because once we realised what was happening... we assumed that these were the 'final 5' ...... but only 4 were revealed. So werethey the final 5 that we've been hearing about through the season? or were they just 'other' cylons or something..... (actually... that cant be right because apparantly the final 5 are the only other human cylons that exist... so they must be. So I guess there's one other one to be shown

I don't think it's Starbuck... I think she actually died and went to "the place between life and death" that was mentioned one episode. And this is how she was able to find earth, and also that shes just in Lee's head, but she will guide him to earth. She seemed to serene, to other worldly.... not at all like 'physical' starbuck was/would be

which I guess (I'm taking to myself now) leads me back to the fact that I'm sure Roslin heard the music as well. Or maybe they put it in but so quickly that nobody would notice... setting themselves up for a reveal next season... but I'm so great that I saw it anyway, lol

*goes back to watch that episode again on monday when he's got some time*

right.. bed for me now, had to finally come into this thread and read it all now that I've seen the final episodes, lol. Seriously though.... wow. best cliffhanger/plot twist ever

The other thing to bear in mind is remember when Lucy Lawless' cylon came face to face with the final five she said "sorry" and seemed apologetic for something that she had done to this member in the BSG storyline--- wasn't Laura Roslin put on the death list on Caprica II by Lucy's cylon? Makes sense that the Pres is in fact the final cylon of the five.

true...but also wasnt it Xena who tortured Tigh and cut out his eye? (I think) she might have been talking about him

and i just (partially) remembered... I'm not sure now if Roslin heard the music... but she DID share a vision with Six and Athena......... at which point me and jane were shouting "ohmygod! she's a cylon!?!"

not sure if thats what it means though or if there's another explanation for having visions... with cylons

Was it Xena that took out Tigh's eye? I can't quite remember.
I'd say that it's a fair bet that Roslin is a cylon as her cancer (the first batch) was cured by the cylon/human baby... and you're right about her sharing that vision. How else could she have been communicating with Sharon and blondie unless she was connected through being a cylon?---

All in all it was a good season ender--- not as explosive as the Caprica II cliffhanger, but good nonetheless.

Perhaps Roslin is the Cylon God and that's why she has all the mystical visions. And maybe the attacks on Caprica weren't random but were designed especially to take out everyone in line for the Presidency above her...

Now there's a conspiracy theory.

Nah ... I'm pretty sure the visions come from all the BSG universe pot and LSD she does to "feel better". :monkey3
