IDK. It's Snyder's film. Not mine. I just hope he doesn't piss me off and waste my money as an audience member. But as they say you can't please everybody. I'll be in the theatre watching...
I was pretty surprised by this news, especially since Ben has sort of reinvented himself as a very capable director and has finally earned some respect. Stepping into this kind of role seems risky.
But I would not be surprised if Ben never ends up in the batsuit after all.
Exactly, they were both great actors who were given ****ty material. As far as Ben Affleck goes, he's a good actor. I think the problem is that people are spoiled. You aren't always going to get an Academy Award winning actor in the Batsuit, folks, and, on top of that, every actor has their ups and downs (ever here of Newsies?). I think the problem is that people are too closed minded to think of this outside of the "fanboy" perspective. They can't seem to grasp that his career has consisted of more than just Daredevil.
What do you mean by the latter statement?
As for the first part of your statement, that's actually why I think this is a great idea. Affleck has spent the better part of a decade rebuilding his brand and his image, I highly doubt he'd take on a role like this if he knew it was going to undo everything he'd worked towards.
I mean I wouldn't be surprised if he backed out or something happened that did not allow him to actually pursue being Batman.
One can only hope. That said, personally, I don't think Ben is right for the role. But hey, if Keaton, Kilmer, Clooney and Bale can play Batman, anyone can.
I just find it odd that people don't have "real world" problems to worry about, instead they're crying in a corner and rocking themselves to sleep for weeks because Affleck is the new Batman.
I don't understand how people can get pissed off that Ben Affleck has been cast as Batman, but don't bat an eye when Ra's al Ghul is a white guy who's never seen a Lazarus pit in his life. Or that Robin is really a cop named John Blake. Or that Batman would quit being Batman so he could jaunt around in Paris with Anne Hathaway. Or leave his mansion to a bunch of orphans. Or talk in a ridiculous growl that's almost impossible to understand. Yeah, next to all that, I can totally see how casting an Oscar winning director and screenwriter, who also happens to be white male East Coast millionaire (just like Batman!) in the role. I can feel your pain, man.

The vibe just isn't right .its a anti climatic announcement .
ever heard of
Surviving Christmas
Extract
it's like picking Ashton Kutscher to play Steve Jobs . The vibe just isn't right .its a anti climatic announcement .
Yeah, I remember Surviving Christmas. Who else was in that? Oh, yeah, that's right, James Gandolfini. Are you going to tell me he's a "sub-par" actor? As for Extract, I watched it the other night and found it to be pretty hilarious, with Affleck being one of the best parts. So, that means that, for the past 5 years or so, he's been pretty solid in everything he's been in. What's your point?
Again, I tire of these arguments that he's just not right "in your opinion." At the end of the day, neither you, nor I, are professionals. Something tells me that if Snyder feels he's the right man for the job, as well as the PROFESSIONAL casting directors, they have a bit more knowledge on the subject than we do.
As for what the "fans" think is right, I've seen everything from Scott Adkins, the dude best known for kicking people in their faces while speaking in a cheap Russian dialect, to a dude from Power Rangers, whose name I don't really care to know, all because those people "could have awesome fight scenes." So, yeah, pardon me if I take anything the hardcore fanboys say with a grain of salt.
