Ben Affleck as Batman

Yeah, I remember Surviving Christmas. Who else was in that? Oh, yeah, that's right, James Gandolfini. Are you going to tell me he's a "sub-par" actor? As for Extract, I watched it the other night and found it to be pretty hilarious, with Affleck being one of the best parts. So, that means that, for the past 5 years or so, he's been pretty solid in everything he's been in. What's your point?

Again, I tire of these arguments that he's just not right "in your opinion." At the end of the day, neither you, nor I, are professionals. Something tells me that if Snyder feels he's the right man for the job, as well as the PROFESSIONAL casting directors, they have a bit more knowledge on the subject than we do..

The majority in the poll voted "nope" on the question "are you nerd raging?" Confusing question, yeah (I'm sure some who didn't read the question intended to vote "nope" on Affleck, not "nope" on nerd raging against Affleck ... but I'm sure quite a few read the question.)

That poll is definitely not a mandate against Affleck.

I don't see how enjoying a comedic film that was generally well received by critics denotes "horrible taste in movies?" Also, I didn't mean arguing, I meant arguments, as in "Person X is making the argument that Ben Affleck isn't going to be a good Batman." The majority does agree with you, if by majority you mean "30% of those who voted."

I never said he did hold a candle to Gandolfini, but I'm saying that Gandolfini was in Surviving Christmas, as well, so why should the weight be shifted solely onto Affleck's shoulders?

Honestly, I am so disgusted with Affleck as Bats that I may skip the movie entirely - I survived Val Kilmer, I don't think I could survive Ben Affleck.

I like him and think it will be done well, though it will mean that the Nolan verse will remain completely separate from this new one, which is also awesome. He certainly has the chin and is handsome so what is it that isn't right for bruce/batman? it's not like he will actually have a boston accent or anything, he's gunna take the role seriously so I say give it a chance

I wasnt happy with choice and hope he steps outside his usual persona i seemed to get from each movie he's in. If i start seeing batman or the character while watchng then i'll say o.k. he did o.k... Some actors can break away from themselves and let us see the actual character like ford or bridges or cranston. If you see the character their playing and not the actor then i'm happy. I know also depends on the story and writing greatly and actors can only do so much for us. Now I will just wait and see how this plays out. I just hope its not a slow motion car wreck you see in traffic and more like fireworks on the 4th.
