The amount of internet whining about this is hilarious and unsettling. Also, people should stop comparing Ben Affleck to Heath Ledger. One is a guy who started out in independent films and then moved onto some really terrible and critically panned mainstream movies, only to surprise audiences in later years with some Oscar nominations and thus finally some recognition of his skills in the industry.

The other guy was Heath Ledger.

Not old enough to have experienced it but there was a backlash against Keaton as Batman too. I'm indifferent. I've already stated my opinion about mixing Batman with other heroes anyways. I already have little interest and low expectations. I could care less who was playing Batman in these films.

I read this whole thread... Wow. Some people just need lives. Batman is my favorite comic character ever created. I'm most upset this news would indicate Affleck's directing career will slow down. But if he gets the chance to direct some solo Batman films? I could get excited over that if I like his performance as Batman.

And I actually can comprehend the things I read and purposefully voted "No - I'm not nerd raging." I don't care if the majority feels my way or not so the poll is a waste of space anyways.

Well I'm certainly not losing any sleep over this, but I find it even more hilarious that you guys have a problem with those those who are opposed to this idea. We're all expessing our opinion on the subject, no need to mock those who disagree with you. You're just as goofy as those who are raging on every forum about some lame casting IMO. Yep, I dislike the idea that Affleck is playing Batman but I do like reading what others think, whether they agreed with me or not. Lol

No, but there's nothing wrong with sharing your opinion based on Affleck's performance in the past. Yes "nerd raging" is definitely over the top. I was one of those who felt like Heath would not have been right for the role, he proved me wrong. I really don't like Ben Affleck as an actor, but I'm willing to see if he proves me wrong. At least Heath has proven to be a great actor, Ben Affleck hasn't done that for me yet.

I thought he did ok in Dare Devil, rewatching it recently, the fights in Dare Devil were actually better than in any of the Batman films.. now granted they probably used a stunt double in all the shots but who's to say they can't do that for this one =)
