What ever happened to Soveriegn Studios? I reckon they nailed it. Has to be the best. So, second best will have to do. If I could get a hold of a zizzle Jack or two I could see myself actually confirming my latent painting inability. Now that would be fun.

For those interested, Neca will also be doing a 12'' Davy Jones to go with their 12'' jack Sparrow..They will show him at SDCC...This will be the same sculpt as the 6'' one, which is IMO pretty much perfect,an amazing sculpt..

Thanks heaps for that BD. I did a search, but came up empty.
I reckon Neca do fantastic sculpts, but I just dont like plastic statues, even articulated ones. Great for customisers to lop their heads off I spose. I think they are bringing out four 12inch PotC figs.

For 12 inch I prefer clothing clothing and such....I love my 18 inch Jack though. If NECA are doing 4 12 inch figures...I wonder who the other two will be?
The Sovereign Studios Jack is very nicely detailed, but there's something about the sculpt that I don't care for. Part of it, I think, is the expression.
If Medicom's looks like the pictures, I'll be extremely pleased with it.

Davy Jones 12" is supposed to look the same...but that's only because every site uses the six-inch toy photo to presell the 12".
I would really like a good 12" Davy Jones to go with my Sovereign Sparrow.
NECA's 12" will most likely be all plastic, so maybe I'll pop of the head and stick it on the Zizzle Davy body

NECA's look very similar, despite the scale. Actually, they look the same to me. Not that it's a bad thing because their sculpts are great.
I've always been a of the cloth clothing though, and not the plastic. Still, if they would give me a Norrington and Elizabeth in 12" form, I would buy them.
The more I look at the pictures, the more excited I am about getting the Medicom Jack.

I like the Medicom one, but it's about $100 too expensive.....
I'm currently re-working the Zizzle one, and it's coming out fantastic......
just because it's Japanese doesn't make it better......

I saw pics of the Zizzle Davy Jones somewhere, during SDCC, and it is my opinion that it isn't worth getting.....
everything from the waist down is sculpted (not fabric), and so the joints are obvious, and clunky.......
the coat is inaccurate, as it is made to accomodate the crab claw (in the film he just draped it over that shoulder, the sleeve hung loose)
this figure is just BAD all over.....the only thing that MIGHT be useable is the head, but it looks just like any other Zizzle head.......one piece, unlike Neca's which is multi-part, for a layered effect........

GOD...I succemed and ordered the medicom jack. I have the MasterReplicas pirate medallion so I have to get a 12" jack right? I'm trying to justify this for myself somehow.
